Perhaps the "chicken wire" wire mesh in your traditional stucco wall, may be shielding your BT device connection. It is a common problem for RF signals. Try putting the BT sending device in a window area, to see if this may help.
I've been looking for more info about the settings. My system has a 24 volt battery bank that I can set but the other 3 allowed changes don't seem to be correlated to a 24 volt system???
Just set up my 30A Rover and got the BT app connected. Helpful video but have a question. My lithium battery is specified with a max 14.5V charging voltage but the app is set to 15.5V in the settings tab. You comment this is where the data fields can be edited but don't actually show an edit. All of your fields are greyed out and on my app only 3 data fields aren't greyed out and those are the only ones you can click on to edit. And of course "Charge Limit Voltage(V)" is greyed out so I cant edit. Can you somehow edit those greyed fields on your app or is there a trick?
I went to use this app today and now it wants access to all the data on my phone. Pictures, Phone log, Exact location, UBS storage. Not going to happen. Deleted the app. You should too.
You don’t need to have a Renogy solar system at all, to use this device. You can connect it into the first battery of a set of Renogy smart batteries, with the remainder daisy chained from there. Respectfully, you are wrong, no more than batteries is fine. The whole point is to get at the BMS of each battery, to be sure each battery Is happy and that the various settings are in concert with your battery environment.
What's the difference between Discharge Limit and Over Discharge? Is the latter a Low-voltage disconnect? In pre-programmed modes for wet, sealed and gel the Over Discharge is set higher than Discharge LImit, should it be the same in User mode? (I'm setting it for Li battery but don't like Renogy pre-programmed Li mode)
The question being, are you still using the BT-1? There seems to be connection / re-connections issues with it. Are you seeing this situation? If not what smartphone are you using?
Does anybody know how the battery capacity is calculated? I never calibrated the system so I’m wondering how it knows how much capacity I actually have. Also, what is that percentage indicating exactly? Is it usable capacity or total capacity? Remember that most batteries shouldn’t be discharged below fifty percent.
Thanks for reading off the screen. Useless. I can do that. What do the values mean? Why did you skip some of the values on the main screen; power and wattage. Pretty sure those two values are fairly importent to a solar power system. What about the battery current indicator? To me current is load; I.e. a lamp draws so many amps (current/work). Is this setting telling me how much amperage my RV is drawing? That’s the kind of stuff a ‘valuable, video would be about.
Ya, this helped absolutely zero. I can read the screen myself. Any ideas where I can get more information about each data field. Specifically the data fields that this guy skipped. All the other data fields are self explanatory.
@@jamesrevell6475 Good luck getting any. I tried to get Renogy to explain the values in this app and got nada from them but BS. Got the same service when trying to troubleshoot a problem with their panels on the roof of my RV.
Bought 2 lifepo4 batteries have to get this module to get my battery to full capacity without the Bluetooth app it only allows li batteries to charge up to 13.3
I am having the connection problem also. My precious phone was a BlackBerry Key 2 running Android and it didn't have the problem. My new phone is a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and I have to add the device everytime I open the app. I sent it in to Renogy only to have them tell me this is normal and they can't explain why my BlackBerry didn't have the problem.
Just downloaded app and somehow connected to my system. However, anything you want to change it tells you to go to administrator mode, BUT how to enter it? What is the password or how to set it up? Close the app and the next time I have to find and connect to the device again, does not remember the device... Crappy app, or I am missing something???
I can't even download the Renogy app for my android because Renogy and Google Play are in a pissing contest right now and Google Play has suspended Renogys app download. So im presently screwed with my new Renogy products!
Absolutely, you can only look at the screens, anything I want to do it gives me the crappy message to go to administrator mode and then it asks for freaking password... What is the password? How one can set it/change. Total garbage app...
Do any of those parameters allow you to set the max charge level of a lithium battery to 85%?
Thanks, So you can change the max that the battery would charge to in the settings? Looks like it.

Is everyone having the same issue of the app not saving information?
Yep

You have 2 fields of interference, cement/stucco wall to rear of the BT1 and solar panel screen in front of BT1
What temperature we need add
Renogy is rebranded...I believe it's SRNE. Rich Solar is the same but cheaper.

It calculates it based on battery voltage.
What is a default Bluetooth pair pin?
You say "you also have to have a Renogy solar panel system"?? Well that's not true🙄
Your screen keeps showing the disconnected issue and you did not talk about it !! Is the Vlog ad. by Renogy ?
How can the record be downloaded to something like an Excel sheet?

anyway to download data to a spreadsheet
thanks

I use the manual mode and set my own parameters
I am having the connection problem also. My precious phone was a BlackBerry Key 2 running Android and it didn't have the problem. anybody knows if the history (record) of charging stays when controller is disconnected?
How do you change temperature from C to F?
I used the SRNE app which allowed me to change to Fahrenheit. Not sure if you can do that in the Renegy app.
This renogy is just rebadged stuff. Paying for a name. Could this device be used with solar app srne? It's the same thing as the generic

Anyone having a nasty time getting the app to work and just use a Batt Monitoring screen?
Absolutely, you can only look at the screens, anything I want to do it gives me the crappy message to go to administrator mode and then it asks for freaking password... What is the password? How one can set it/change. Total garbage app...
Anyone know how to recover password after forgetting?
Bennie Reid
All that yakity yak and you don't describe how to change parameters and how to use/changethe admin password?? Basically your saying nothing!
Apps garbage and don't keep track of stats.
