I have been on both side of the putting argument. I’ve been Jerm trying to encourage my friends when they miss a putt, and I’ve been Uli who is annoyed by my friends giving me advice after missing a putt 🤷🏼♂️ and I’ve also been Nate walking away from my friends who are arguing about a putt 😂
My least favourite thing is when people compliment my bad putts haha “had the right height” “good run” when I don’t even hit metal will never cease to amuse me.
As a parent, its always best to make sure that if you start an argument in front of the children, you show them the resolution. A Jerm/Uli hug out to close the round would suffice :)
Why is everyone thinking this is the end of jomez? Or that someone should leave? Jerm and paul are good friends, friends can argue and still be friends. Yall are blowing things out of proportion
Yea I’m like Uli. Big Jrm talks a lot, which is why I watch this stuff! The stories, the jokes, the disc golf, all good. But I could see that driving me crazy through an 18 of practice shots lol. Great stuff! Hang in there boys, I love these.
Tough watch with Jerm and Uli, and I see both sides. I also think if the roles were reversed, it would have been the same result. Jerm was trying to turn it into a teachable moment for the audience, which is laudable, but did it at the worst possible time with someone who was not in the mood. I can see why Uli took it personally - he's having a tough go of it, trying to work through it, and felled called out.
uncomfortable mood change after 11, but thank you Nate for being the adult. Still, by far my second fav to watch next to actual tournament. Skins is 3rd.
If there is no guest, you should put a mic on Brad. He obviously has a wealth of knowledge and commentary to dish out. Often the guys are having conversations with him that we don't understand only hearing one half of the dialogue.
I’ve always said I wish they’d let him play a practice round with them sometime. Dudes a legend and still a good ass golfer. Kids who have never seen him throw would lose their shit over his form.
If someone tells you to "Don't think about elephants", you'll think about elephants. To focus the mind on what you want to do, an approach is to avoid the negative litany. Reverse the statements. Instead of "don't putt low" etc., focus with "Putt to center", "Putt with speed" and so forth. Say what is wanted rather than reminding things to avoid.
Ya I agree, and think Jerm was totally right, but Uli just didn't want to hear it the instant he'd missed the putt. It's odd, because Uli is an instructor and I'd think he'd be giving the same advice to his students.. Focus on the positive outcome rather than all the things not to do. I personally have a really bad target fixation problem.. If there are people or cars to the right of my drive, I consistently grip lock it toward them, and it's the same issue.. "Don't throw toward the people/car"... instead of "Throw directly toward the basket"
Reality TV at its best folks! Thank you for editing out The Jerry Spring show between Uli and Jerm. Appreciate Nate for explaining the mood change which was obvious. Hopefully Jerm will leak out more Japan stories as time goes on, sounds like an amazing trip!
Uli got some poop in his pants and Jerm NEVER knows when to shut up. Its ok Uli, we've all been there many times. I must've missed 9 20-35 ft birdie putts at whistler's bend last week 😢 always remember to laser your putts for the calm, collected papa Nate everyone!!!
I agree with the big man about manifesting the dont’s. Whenever I think about what I don’t want to do, it’s exactly what I do. The brain is an insane and amazing thing when it comes to bringing the future. That debate/argument did change the whole vibe, but despite that, that message rings true for this golfer.
I couldn't finish this episode. I think they should have wrapped up earlier and just said the back 9 was scrapped due to a technical issue. Big props to Nate for trying to correct a derailing train.
i think the mood change came from Uli almost playing for birdie/par after hitting that tree of the tee, but Nate and Jerm didnt give a fuk about him trying, even cameras almost missed his upshot (the one he was trying to manifest into existence :) )
Big Jerm is right about the putting tip, there’s a study done for addiction recovery that if you are so focused only on not “messing up” again that you make yourself more susceptible to feeling an impulse to do what ever your trying to overcome, the trick is not to tell yourself not to mess up but to say you are going to succeed, there a big difference between “don’t mess up” and “I can do it”
As a scientist, I have to say this is a really bad extrapolation of data from one thing to another that really has no expected relationship. I'm not saying the same process couldn't apply, but not wanting to miss a putt is not addiction relapse, and it's silly to conflate the two.
@@landonwebb886 as someone acutely aware of the massive amount of harm really shitty psychological research had done over the years because of lack of real scientific or statistical rigor especially when it comes to making assumptions about extrapolation, I definitely will not take your word for it and neither should anyone else.

Paul is frustrating at times. He never seems to be able to take any kind of criticism or just sarcasm but dishes it out all the time. Clearly you could see Jerm with a genuine comment with zero negative meaning behind it all. Thinking let's use this moment to educate our audience a little of habits or things to avoid when putting. I thought it was a great insight. It just feels at times that Uli thinks he's above anyone critiquing of his game whether it's in a positive way or sarcastically. Especially coming from Jerm. With that said in no way does that make him a bad guy or should be judged on a few moments of weakness. Just an observation. I loved seeing all 3 guys back for the practice round playing all 18 holes. Maybe my favorite thing to watch in disc golf.
