What a pretty edge! Thanks for sharing. Also very entertained by how the backing track keeps threatening to be “Careless Whisper.”
I've been knitting for 55+ years and have never seen this before. Thanks for teaching this old dog a new trick.

Absolutlely beautiful & mesmerizing! I think this would make a great trim on a pillow. Thanks for sharing this and your guitar music!
I think I can actually learn to knit from this! 😮❤
Wow! Beautiful work
Idk if anyone in the comments has asked this, but how would you bind off in that pattern? I see so many videos about cast on edges, but they sometimes fail to show you how to bind off in that same pattern. If there is another video showing the bind off, I'll save both videos for later. Anyway, it is a beautiful cast on 😊.
Pretty. I like how it rolls forward to show off the under-side of the pretty braid
Wow amazing sis 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤲🙏🏻
Looks like you are braiding with your knitting needle and two strands of doubled yarn. Awesome. Don't know that I would have ever thought of doing that on my own!
That is a lovely edging! But I was more fascinated by your magical, easy purls. And then I realized your knits were through the back! I gotta get off here and back to knitting. I can't wait to try your method of K/P. And I'm wondering if that edging is stretchy enough for sox? I'm definitely using it on a pair of fingerless mitts I'm about to make. THANK YOU TONS!
Hello Cherry, is that edging stretchy enough for sox? Have you tried it? Greetings from Germany
That's an eastern European style of knitting, sometimes referred to as Russian Granny knitting. If you notice, the needle goes in the _back_ of the stitch for knit stitches, as well as doing a much easer yarn grab for the purls. I believe you do have to make some other adjustments for things once you introduce patterning.
Yes, I watched in wonderment as my Serbian mother-in-law did this enchanting
knitting style. Now at close to 80, I love it but still knit in American form.🧶@@resourcedragon
The way she knitted was fascinating to me more than the casting on pattern. It looks a lot faster way of knitting.
@@margyb7469both were fascinating to me but yes, it made knitting look SO much easier than how I do it.
Bhut sunder 👌👌

Hermosa idea!, mil gracias por compartirla. Saludos desde Chile 🇨🇱
I was watching and thought "Oh, how pretty" and then she began knitting for real and my jaw dropped. That was the most beautiful life-line I've ever seen. And now, totally needs to be (probably is already) a gorgeous caston.
Wow super

Very nice ❤❤
Very nice
A very beautiful cast on. Thank you
Out of all the knitting video and all my frustrations, searching for someone who knits in the same way as I do, I finally found someone who knits from what I call the front side of the stitch with both knit and pearl! The techniques on how they do their stitches, the Continental or English styles have frustrated me to no end. My stitches come out twisted when I try to knit with those techniques. Leaving me to figure out more advanced stitches on my own 😢 you have gained my subscription. Thank you so much. 😀😊. Now I'm going to watch the rest of your videos. I've watched two so far to see if you really do stitch this way, or was it just these two videos.
Thank you. I'm going to look for stitch patterns on this technique.
Maybe if I had someone to teach me to catch what I'm doing wrong? Very frustrating 😢 at least I have you all to thank for telling me what type of knitting I was doing. Thank you so much 💜
@@Sand_Dollar it is called german style or continental european style.
Very nice👍
I am going to try this I love it . Thank you

Beautiful ❤️❤️
Çok güzel olmuş ellerinize sağlık..
This is cool! How do you finish it off at the end of the project?
That’s beautiful
I have never seen this style of knitting. Looks so interesting I need to go try myself 🤩🙏
Esa terminación es preciosa!!!❤
My high school Home Ec teacher taught us this knitting pattern but instead of a small knitting needle we used broom handles that were cut in ⅓ pieces and sanded down. She called it broomstick lace. It's the ONLY knitting pattern I can do.
That's interesting 🤔. Crocheting has a stitch named broomstick lace, but it's entirely different in appearance.

Que preciosidad,gracias saludos desde España,❤❤❤
Interesting techhniqe
This is so beautiful! I crochet but never could get the hang of knitting. This makes me want to try it again. What yarn are you using and what color is it? Its beautiful!❤️❤️❤️
Are you doing one row knit, one row pearl? I've never seen that way of knitting before which is why I'm asking. Looks lovely and would make a great bottom to a cardigan or jumper.
It’s continental knitting
It's Russian style knitting.
It would look good as a baby blanket edge too, it's so pretty
First row was knitted through the back loop until the last one, knitted through the front. Next row was purl, and slips or knits in the first and last stitches of each row.
All knits look like they are through the back loop unless it is the first or last stitch.
So,beautiful ❤❤❤
I LOVE this
Napicaz bunu 😊
Is this a stretchy cast on?
Would this work for starting a neckline?
Me encanta gracias
Wow
👌👌👌
Yukarı doğru kıvrımı düzelirmi birde bunu aralara kat kat yapabilirmiyiz ❤
i once got a pattern from a coworker which started like this one but it continued with both colours in a way that with the yarns used in this video one side would be pink and one side would be white. sadly i lost the pattern before i was able to make something with it. Do you know how to make a knitting with both sides in different colours?
Machallah Machallah 👍👍❤❤
Same, I definitely love this. I’ve never knit before, only crocheted. I’d love to know what the name of the pattern is.
WOW, Gracias.
Looked simple enough and easy to follow , but at 3:20 i had a flash back of how much sacked at this.
👏👏👏👏❤️
I’m back learning to knit after giving it a go when I was a child so please forgive me if these questions have obvious answers to them. But I won’t learn if I don’t ask.
Why did you leave two strands of white yarn & one of the two strands at the bottom?
Can you use this technique to do rib stitches for sleeve cuffs for example?!
I can't wait to try this stitch, but what is it called?
Have you ever tried to apply this technique to macrame?
I think it would be awesome as a plant hanger or even a hanging shelf!
❤ to see new, creative video content - 👏! Kudos to U 😊
Beautiful work and such an innovative idea. Thank you. I agree with a previous commenter that it would make a great edging to a jumper. I will keep video and try it out one day. Do you have to do it continental knitting ? Can it be done like English knitting? I do want to learn continental knitting though so a good time to try. Thank you for this beautiful design. ❤❤
You have to pay attention to what they do with the stitches at the two ends of the rows, but I think this will work with English knitting too. 😊
@@shethra77 thank you. Will definitely try it out. 👍
@karencotterell-gd6In Yes, it can be done. I am a Asian born Swiss. I have learnt English knitting at the beginning and later I have learnt continental style. Now I can do both when one hand is tired. You can definitely do it. Keep practicing .. Happy knitting .
I've found that by watching it in slo-motion, I can follow it much better.
