What exactly are you using for decoy line I use 200lb mono leaders and the keel hook on the avain enlarge over time and do not click in and hold as well
Robert, I use GHG Quick Set Line (PVC). I use a cord crimp to attach the line to the top hole in the keel, and then use a GHG Stretchee Cord and "L hook" weight. The PVC line "gives" or "squishes" just enough to pop in and out of the keel slots without wearing them. My oldest Avian X mallards are five years old and so far no problem with the keel slots wearing on them.
@@MNFishingGuide thanks for the reply I've used PVC cord before on the avain's. I had trouble with the pinch on the keel hook wearing down the PVC and eventually breaking the line resulting in losing the weight I'll give the GHG a try again thanks
good stuff troy! look forward to getting out shooting some greenheads with ya this season
