This is an excellent video. Just wanted to note that there isn't a need to re-use the factory bracket or solder speaker wires anymore. Metra makes replacement brackets and a wiring harness to connect directly from the factory wiring to aftermarket speakers.
Bro you're definitely alright with me! It's like your talking to yourself and making it happen at the same time. Opposed to everyone else talking about a whole lot of sh#$ except what's advertised. Keep posting Bro!
Soldering those x-overs to the tweeters is likely unnecessary since the factory amp does all the HPF to those regardless if you have the standard or Sony system. It's the most comprehensive video on this subject I've found so far.
That is a great topic when too use a x-over seem as tho I have the stock system without the premium Sony system when I switched out my factory tweeters for the new kicker the original ones had a x-over inline with it. Now mind you the x-over HPF are too protect the tweeters from being damaged from lower frequencies over time wether it’s factory or not that’s how I feel about it. But hey everybody is entitled on how they set there system…
Hey man I know this is a older video so you might not see this comment, but what size are the tweeters that fit in the door of a 2015 ford fusion se, I can’t find what inch to fit in there
How did you get the tweeters out. I feel like I’m gonna break the entire housing. Ok. I got it out. But now what. It’s encased in the proprietary housing. Wish you would of shown what you were doing at the end with the tweeter. ??? I feel like I should just cut the clip off and solder the crossover onto the stock wires. Mine are purple and yellow.
Yeah the tweeters are a pain in the a** to get out if they break you can always use hot glue. Reason I say hot glue because you never know if you have to pull your aftermarket tweeters back out. I think I left the Color of the wires for the tweeters in the description in the video!!!
@@DMVTeslaDad I used a plastic prying tool to unclip the tweeter. The. Just figured I would cut the clip from the car and solder the crossover to the stock wires ,then just push the tweeter back in. The center speaker was fun. Nothing fits in that car. lol. Gotta modify everything
How did you connect the speaker to the plastic housing? How do you secure it. By the way I'm a female diy doing this myself? A response from anyone would be helpful.
How did u connect the tweeters in the front it’s a harness attached …did u take the one off the old one and solder it on the new one or did u buy a wiring harness online
So those tweeters fit right in? I see the cst20s on Amazon but they look like they have a housing around them ?? They sell a pair but one tweeter looks like it’s sitting in a dome type housing and the other looks flat. Weird. Am I looking at the correct tweeter? Thanks!!
@@LoVeAmBiEnT it’s the same but the difference on the back door is the you are removing the caps covers from the tweeter insert and in addition you would have too tap into the rear door speaker harness as there wouldn’t be any tweeter wire leads…
wire cutters and soldier iron and rosin core soldier I recommend plus heat srink or electrical tape. next you would have to tap into the speaker wires on each door
Okay what do I use to tap into the speaker wires? Any certain type of wire I need. Also for the 6.5 door speakers were you able to use the red wire connectors or do I have to get new female adapters?
@@DMVTeslaDad that’s right… cuz the stereo is only putting out 4 channels, not 8. The crossover splits the high and low freqs from the woofer and tweeter. Thanks for the help. Trying to figure this out on my own without paying $300 extra for a company to do it. You know?

Crutchfield supplies all those materials for free
Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate this video. 💜
Great video! It was spot on, I followed your instructions on how to replace them and it worked perfectly great job.
Glad it helped
Finally a video that got to the point 💯
Amazing video good sir, I love the explanations there so spot on with good info and simplifying to make it understandable. Thank you for this
This is super useful, guess I'll be doing the install myself

Yeah I realize that just folks on UA-cam ones that don’t have the 🥜 to get on here and create content and the stuff have too go through creating it
This was helpful thanks Bro💪🏿💪🏿
Great video, thank you!
I get the same speakers but used the Metra harness and speaker bracket kit, no need to cut anything, just plug and play .

Do you have the stock radio and if so is it the Sony or non Sony system
Bro thanks for the help
Happy to help

I cut a hole out the original housing and put my speaker inside of it. I just tapped the new speaker to the plastic
So the back tweeters. Do you know which is positive and negative? I’m on the right side. Purple white stripe and blue with white stripe

I got the same tweeters you have in the video for the rear doors
What would the solder be for could I use t tap connectors?
Except for don't use a butter knife. I'm pretty sure he broke the cover hooks.
Skipped the steps of showing us how to install the speaker 🤦🏽♂️🥴 I’m over UA-cam tutorials at this point
Great comment. Much needed
How did you connect the x-over?
You have too match the wires from tweeter connector back to the woofer which will be smaller gauge wire

this is the worst install for a fusion I've seen. Show the steps of the install
