I think the electrical de-bonding thing is absolutely revolutionary. I hope they eventually apply that for the back cover and screen glue as well. Is the whole "needs additional hardware" thing is such a big deal? Anybody selling a replacement battery for this model will inevitably offer a 9v and crocodile clips as well, just like how most replacement screens come with some screwdrivers and the seal. I mean what item worth $700 or more can be fixed with some duct tape and a butter knife?
Would be cool to have the back cover and screen removed that way too, but I doubt it would be a water resistant seal at that point unless they come up with a new form of it that also is water resistant. However that whole offering a 9v battery and clips with it as well is not necessarily a good thing. One, it would cause shipments to be much slower since they only allow ground shipping now with most packages containing batteries, and two, that would just create so much more waste. So many one time use and throw in the trash cases.

One more advantage of using pull pouch that you didn’t mention: they are (unintentionally) reusable. You don’t need new adhesives to glue the new battery after battery replacement.

easy to fix now but they serialized everything making sure that even if you replace parts they don't work
Really? from what I saw, swapping parts now works as long as you run the calibration process and use original replacement parts.
