I think some of her pronunciation is not correct. I just feel its okay because I know she is not China girl She born and grow up in America. But she can improve it. I also not From China. I'm chinese but born and grow up in Indonesia. But I learn chinese language and now can speak.

Not a disney fan and I never watched the animated version but I know about it because of Lea Salonga. However, when I heard the news that Liu Yifei will play the role of Mulan, I didn't think twice I had to watch it and as expected she killed it. Liu Yifei never disappoint she's indeed the perfect Mulan.

Well I have no problem it was done in english because its a Disney production that referes to the animated version. There are plenty of Mulan chinese versions though and much more true to the original chinese folklore story. Disney animated was a bit whitewashed version catered to the American audience.
its an american production with an american company paying for it made to look like an authentic chinese movie. i think thats enough. plus chinese is a hard language for most people to understand while english is pretty much a universal language of film at this point

If you look at the multiple versions of "Into the Unknown" from Frozen 2 and compare the lyrics, you will see that the English translation is similar, but a lot of the times is also different. Into the Unknown becomes Into Another World, An Unexpected Journey, etc.

Not a disney fan and I never watched the animated version but I know about it because of Lea Salonga. However, when I heard the news that Liu Yifei will play the role of Mulan, I didn't think twice I had to watch it and as expected she killed it. Liu Yifei never disappoint she's indeed the perfect Mulan.
Liu Yifei is a great actress this movie and she is beautiful inside and out side.. God blessed.. We love 😘😍

The Police did their best to contain the situation. Although there is still transparency issues and misguided deeds, it was done out of respect and responsibility for their jobs.

It'd be even better if it were middle Chinese, since I think that's the earliest form of Chinese people can reconstruct verbally. It'd be a trip for all audiences but the effort would definitely be immense.
Well I have no problem it was done in english because its a Disney production that referes to the animated version. There are plenty of Mulan chinese versions though and much more true to the original chinese folklore story. Disney animated was a bit whitewashed version catered to the American audience.
its an american production with an american company paying for it made to look like an authentic chinese movie. i think thats enough. plus chinese is a hard language for most people to understand while english is pretty much a universal language of film at this point

I WAS never a fan of such movies and had my arm twisted to watch...yep stupid I know....Liu Yifei was just stunning in her performance...I was gobsmacked. Never seen her before in any movies. This was perfection. THEN hearing her sing was like WHAT? I so enjoyed the Mandarian? version of the song.....how, like what, who is she? @@nunasenpai3969 I'm pretty sure I read that the songs from the original movie will be in this film, but as orchestral/instrumental arrangements without vocals. Given the style they're apparently going for, I think that's actually a really good way to handle it.

If you look at the multiple versions of "Into the Unknown" from Frozen 2 and compare the lyrics, you will see that the English translation is similar, but a lot of the times is also different. Into the Unknown becomes Into Another World, An Unexpected Journey, etc.
