I closed deals with Momentum Solar, they’re a solid company with great training. Now I’m setting appointments with Ion Solar and they are also a great company 👍
I just started with Ion, and im skeptical about their ethics. Their panels cost homeowners about 2x the industry standards, at about 5.65 ppw which is not only misleading to homeowners but also lowers the close rate as people are shocked to see the actual monthly price after we assure them we’ll lower their bill. They also tell homeowners that it doesn’t matter if they’re planning to move soon, yet I’m a realtor and ik this to be untrue. Opinions?
That's exactly why I've jumped around from so many companies over the years. They all sell the dream and then you realize a lot of the sales tactics can be borderline unethical. I got tired of having to walk that fine line everyday to earn a paycheck, so I got out of solar and insurance industries. I've been selling fiber optic internet over the past year because it's something that everyone actually wants and the commissions have been pretty good in the industry.
Momentum, in Austin, has canceled 2 in person interviews. The corporate office actually reached out to me and conducted over the phone interviews and 1 through Microsoft Teams. I was then scheduled for a third in person interview. Lets see how this goes.
STAY AWAY from that company!!! I worked there earlier this year & resigned after 4 weeks. It’s a revolving door, no gas/car allowance & they will waste your time & money on unqualified appointments that are an hour drive or more from your home. No one in sales was there over 6 months & they have a new training class every 3 weeks to replace the people they burn & churn. You will not make it to get paid any commission because you will not be able to live on the salary they give you. You will also put a ton on mileage on your car for nothing. Comp plan sucks as well. Don’t be fooled by their good reviews as they aren’t real!!! RUN & look elsewhere!
I worked with momentum for almost 3 months and let me tell ya OMG I gotta go because I’m performance. They never told me how I was performing my team lead told me I was doing a good job getting leads. That I was a rising star .They told me I don’t have sales or same day next day but I was let go but not fire HR told me I’m eligible for any position. I got no review on how I was doing and they were not critiquing me. I never called out. I was meeting my quota for leads.
@@MHiL7 I believe every word you said I work with them for almost 3 months and they’re telling me I am a rising star and I’m doing a good job they let me go because I’m at my performance they tell me anything I was on the retail side, there’s no structure over this chaos in this disorder My team lead told me sorry this happened to you about this job is not right for everybody.
@Tony H I was just focusing on life insurance and annuities and no longer doing solar, but I recently stopped selling insurance as well. Maybe it was just the company I was working with, but only about 50% of everything they said turned out to be true… Which has been a common theme among sales companies. It made me realize that I need to focus on building my own business, which is what I’m doing now.
Dude, I just signed up to all the solar companies in Indeed after watching your doordash and 37k in 2 months video. I am also here in ATX. Maybe I will run into you so I can thank you personally. Thanks bro. 🙏
This is a very good video for learning what not to do… my own personal opinion is that this is not a video for installers that are starting their own company bc most of the opinions are negative. As a sales person you need to be more positive and engage with the audience. All companies will struggle and that’s part of the learning curve but you’ll need to grind to achieve your goal
I just got hired on with a company, they fly their employees out to a location to grind for 2 weeks, then fly back home. They pay for everything. The closer and the setter splits everything 50/50. They have don’t put you on a territory. Do you think this would be a good company to work for?
Everything you just mentioned sounds great! I would recommend getting clarification on the average time to install that way you have an idea of how long it takes to get paid. Also, be sure to understand the red line set by the company because that will effect how much you and the closer are able to profit. But congratulations getting the job, go crush it!
Woohoo. Hopefully it's as good as my friend is making it out to be. I like the idea of huge commissions but waiting up to 2 months to get paid on them seems unbearable.
It's a tough transition, but life changing if you stick with it. There are some companies that will pay a base or hourly rate the first few weeks or months which can make the transition easier. Good luck!
That's how it is at most solar and door to door companies to be honest, but there are some gems out there with solid teams. I recommend applying to all of them and seeing which one you get the best vibes from!
I have owned my solar company for six months now and we have been subcontracting for legacy but how do I get other big or small solar companies to sub out work for me or how do I get more solar install in general?
It's nearly impossible to say. It could range from $500 to well over $20,000 depending on the red line set by the company and the price at which you sell the system. I would say a $5,000 commission per system is reasonable to expect.
@@ConnorJaksik door to door was the best way to get in front of a customer BACK in the day. Everything is switching to online. It’s more convenient for all parties involved. It’s confusing, but Sunrun bought Vivint Solar. Vivint Smart Home is a different company lol. I’m selling insurance now.

It would be good to go over different comp plans , revenue share vs red line. I had to figure out myself & still searching.
I appreciate you letting me know! I might make a video about that.

I feel there's a lack of transparency in the solar field, especially in the commission arena .

I love Powur and I would not change to any other! Have you ever tried it?
Powur is a solar mlm. Probably one of the worst solar companies you could work for. Their business model and "compensation structure" is terrible
I have owned my solar company for six months now and we have been subcontracting for legacy but how do I get other big or small solar companies to sub out work for me or how do I get more solar install in general?
I have been doing solar in Florida since July, still have not had one of my deals closed installed
Man that bites whom do u sale for
What company are you with and what area are you in Florida?
Wow I thought I was struggling with my solar sales job. That’s tough
Is it momentum?
Great information tho. Thnks
Question for you what do you think about solar PPA programs? Why would you recommend it ?
PPA if you retired or fixed income is what I have researched
What do you know about Sunnova?

Hello, i’m moving out to Austin Texas and was interested in selling solar! Have you ever heard of NIVO solar
No I haven’t heard of them. I would recommend reaching out to a few employees through social media and asking about their experience with the company.
How many companies can you work for at once?
There's no limit.... I don't see the benefit thought
door to door is a outdated model.
What's a better model?
