there was definitely an energy in the room showing that remix was a crowd favorite. for people who have been following him through the years, there’s been excitement to see him perform live on the GBB stage. he did sound good live but also the crowd just seemed to want to see him succeed
I feel like Remix and his situation/performance, barely getting into the Top 8, was much similar to the risks Helium took in GBB21. They didn’t show all they could do, but were aware that all they needed to do was not to place top, but show enough to get in.
@BliXXardStorm just chilling at the moment, a battle round of mine against kuulest came out today, it was a smym/bbu kinda thing just with less editing, tho Im almost certain I've lost lol, I need to work on my structure and timing (granted it was a freestyle) and I'm probably going to be able to visit bgw in a few weeks so that's pretty hype, hope everythings going well for yourself
Yeah, quite arguably one of the most viewed beatbox videos on youtube. Believe he performed it as tribute to what got him noticed in the beatbox community from there it has been amazing to watch his progression over the years from a 16 year old till now.
He has clean unique bass vibration but can be predictable. I think if he played with structure more and didn’t repeat his routines as much he’d be near untouchable in battle
Nah fully agree with what dlow is saying. Great textures and sounds but currently being used in a template way at the moment. Looking forwards to how he evolves in future
His style is very easily digestible. I like the way he integrates his sounds. He does things that are very technical, yet it's so simple to understand. That's not easy to do. Good round.
Agreed i just commented this on Remix channel as well. Hes improving so much each time and its just the fillers that he seems a bit rushed in his sets that he wants to hit so hard and wants to do so well that he might just rush through some drills instead of really breathing and making the beats come in a more smooth way through his beatbox. But Remix in the nearest future can really become the best of the best in my opinion. Hes stage presence has also improved A LOT! I love remix
I love remix for how he can make hype routines, and i do love how he improved so much (espacially his basses, i used to think his vibration and inward was pretty muffled and unclean now it’s so much better) but i agree that he lacks identity in the structure / creating a piece aspect of beatbox. Like you can make an osis or den type routine without any of their sounds, but it’s hard to make a remix routine unless you do actual remix stuff
@gabrielegrigoli2843I don't think you understood what they meant. Nobody is talking about his sound set, of course it is unique. Nobody does the duck sound plus vibration the way remix does or his inward killswitch with his nose. Every pro beatboxer has their own unique sounds and that does not mean uniqueness. It's just your soundset. We are talking about his songwriting. His song isn't really a song in that sense. What dlow is also saying is that Remix takes a basic hip hop beat and then just puts his sounds on it with some fillers. People like den and osis create their own flows which is the uniqueness factor with them.
08:10 You have already met Remix, D-low! xD You jammed with Remix at GBB21 in Warsaw, Poland xD there's literally a video: "UNOFFICIAL CIRCLE JAM | Grand Beatbox Battle 2021".
and you magically know that they actually met? because being physically near someone, even if it's 10 feet, does NOT mean that you met them, how is this not obvious? also if you didn't notice, there was like 900 people in that video which only decreases the chance of them being able to talk, 5 seconds of logical thought to come to this conclusion but sadly common sense is a rarity today
@@anomaly3215 Have you had a bad day or something? That comment is so unnecessary. I know they have met because it was the small circle jam and i've seen several videos of them interacting with each other at GBB21.
I have controversial feelings about Remix as a whole, but I can't deny my love to his style. I like to descibe it as 'heavy bubbliness'. His play with basses is increadible every time, and which is more important for me it doesn't feel too much. It just has this quality of replayability to me. This can play in my headphones all day long and I probably won't get tired. Yeah, it may be generic and not at the top of his abilities, but it's very enjoyable. Thanks for your reaction as always, Dan!
I think remix showed a lot of maturity with his structure in this elimination and I’m happy he got into the top 8. Before, he was definitely a victim of the new school spamming and trying to show as much skill as possible which ended up sounding messy, but here he kept his beats simpler while choosing key moments to show rly fast complex techniques like the triplet spit snare buildups and the squeak evolution of his inward bass drop
More than the reactions, I'm loving hearing your analysis! Even if it's just for a hobby and fun, your perspectives and arguments are very interesting. Sometimes it's harder to find the words and explain our feelings when we see these eliminations (which is pretty normal), but you're doing a great job. Big up! ✌🔥
I agree. Remix's style is very pleasing to the ear and smooth to listen to, but not very memorable. I understand that it is classic, straight on, and exactly what people want. It may not be something bad. However, I also think that in order to stand out in this kind of contests, it is required to be original and unique compared to the other competitors. This could be said not only in competitions but also in the art scene. Anyway, shout out to Remix!
Vibration bass is indeed very difficult to control. For me, I have to be very relaxed to hit the right spot, I can’t imagine how difficult it is live. 🤙🏼
I honestly used to be a bit of a remix hater like 4+ years ago, when he was new to the scene and being super hyped. To me he just sounded like a mixture of other beatboxers.. but I've slowly been converted into a fan. His work ethic and passion is undeniable, he's really pushing himself and he gives so much support to others. Plus he owns all the critical stuff people say about him... he seems like a class act.
@trisfaleel yeah but when it's paired with them also being extremely overhyped by people like they're on some sort of pedestal when they are just new to the scene makes it a bit untasteful. Like back in the king cobra days, if you were around for that.. his fans were the most annoying and borderline disrespectful. And I am a fan and friend of wunknown and remix sounded particularly like wunknown at that time.
Weren’t you in a little cypher with him in a big circle outside a hotel? Does anyone know what I’m talking about? I know it’s not called a cypher in bb, but I feel like I remember him in a circle with d-low a bunch of others outside a hotel or something.
It's the "unofficial circle jam" by BBX from 2021. It's mentioned in the comments quite a lot here, and D-Low replied that he did met him there somewhere below here :)
Underrated performance for only just making in top 8. CRAZY sounds and techniques to pull off so well on stage, not to even mention the lung capacity on this guy without it majorly affecting the performance.
Honestly it probably only ranked that low because everybody has already seen so much remix. Judges most likely heard those routines multiple times over. (also gbb audio kinda very underwhelming now, i hope they go back to a sound system like 2019 or even 2021)
@@ecciq Im fairly certain judges didnt rank him down for using already known routines, it tends to be that you can use the same routine in different competitions just not the same one, so if he did insane again in gbb25 then he would definitely get marked down for it. He mostly ranked low because some sounds were inaudible (mouse squeaks) and he had quite a few mistakes.
For how versatile Remix can be he seemed too one-dimensional throughout GBB to me. It's all low low low frequencies and duck noises. I'm excited to see him add some more variety and technicality, which I know he can deliver.
Dlow, I think Remix has like, super high technical skill and his artistry side will come. Talking of maturity is painting the right picture, I'm sorry you didn't feel like it got the point across! Thanks for the thoughts as always

He probaly has
@SoulAlmighty1660Only possible performance I could think of is Remix gbb21 7 to smoke elim, but I dont know if dlow heard it
Dlow wasn't at the 7ts in 21
@BeBanthenz who said he was at the 7ts?
@SoulAlmighty1660The guy who commented just above him, who he has also tagged.

its interesting that you say remix can have a more unique and identifiable style. To me hes one of the beatboxers that I can immediately recognize
I agree. Duck sound, duck roll, vibration bass, fillers, I would recognize all of them to be from remix in 1 second.
I guess he doesn't mean more unique sounds specifically but maybe more unique ways to use them (like how kaji perform for example)
He has clean unique bass vibration but can be predictable. I think if he played with structure more and didn’t repeat his routines as much he’d be near untouchable in battle

Give him a couple years he could win gbb
Remix managed to make his speedy combos still sound relaxed in the slow beat. I’m so impressed by that.
Having a fellow south african brother at the gbb is amazing to see. Much love from SA

I feel like remix is under appreciated. Very few are able to execute bass like this on the live stage. 100% a top elimination.
It’s always an great Day when you upload
Much love bro❤
Adi's reaction again bro, he made something interesting

new derrick wildcard is breaking necks. ez satisfying reaction !!
Yes dan you met him in a circle jam and you heard his live performance years a go..maybe twice actually
