  • Marie Ozanne became interested in biostatistics during her undergraduate years when she visited the University of Iowa for a summer program that introduces students to biostatistics at the College of Public Health ( • Iowa Summer Institute ... ).
    She ended up coming to Iowa for the PhD program in biostatistics, where she was able to combine her science and chemistry background with multi-discipline projects including studying tropical infectious disease in Brazil.
    Now, Marie is an assistant professor at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts in the mathematics and statistics department.

    I have absolutely no idea why this video was recommended to me considering I am employed in a completely different field, not American, or currently studying, but damn, interesting, good for her!

    I'm also interested in biostatistics but unfortunately I just can't afford to study in the US. I can only wish more Americans would take advantage of opportunities for learning because in countries like ours in the Philippines many yearn to become educated but very few could afford the tuition and only UP offers biostatistics course with very few professors teaching as well..
