- We've returned to our favourite place, Cabarete (Puerto Plata) in the Dominican Republic to live here. We're moving indefinitely from Canada to the Dominican Republic and in this video we're talking about how good it feels to be back.
We start the video on Cabarete Beach and eventually make our way into town to get locally made popsicles and to stop into a local fruit and vegetable stand.
We later head back to our apartment and then make our way to happy hour later in the day.

I tell people all the time the Dominican Republic gets in your soul. We moved here to Punta Cana 7 years ago. And now we help others find there dream home. If you get a chance in January go to Samana to see the whales it is amazing .
We saw the whales in Samana the last time we were here. We even have a video on it! 🤗- Anna
The North coast is sometimes called "Costa de Ambar" or "Amber Coast" because of the special amber that is only found in the country. There is even a popular amber museum in Puerto Plata.

Recommendations visit the Museum Centro Leon in the city of Santiago.
Take a trip to the south, Bahia de Las Aguilas and Barahona are destinations that deserve to be visited.

I am still at a loss why some people (expats) is miserable living in the DR. The DR is amazing especially the North coast for me. I am very excited for both of you, and hope one day it will be your permanent home. Love this video. 👍

Mr Dee I’m from Miami I traveled there all the time DR by far is the best place to live - you payed no property taxes for the first 15 years DR specially puerto plata have so so much to offered- if you do go please go to this place I went to -) Santa Fe beach club (day pass ) , fricolandia puerto plata , the 27 waterfalls of damajuana -( los 27 charcos de damajuana, monkey land , rio sonador puerto plata - puerto plata have over 1000 stunning rivers and waterfalls you must do research they are hidden …
God is everywhere but sleeps in dominican republic my country. DR has it all.

I don't know if this is really my place, with all the traffic in just one street, exhaust gas and noise all day long, that you even hear in my apartment. But I'll find out, hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow and I'll definitely try an ice cream 🍦

You would like Santiago for sure. I would love to tell you to go but right now all this constructions for the train and big infrastructure projects. But Santiago anyway will show a different city with a lot of history and one that marks a lot regarding culture.

@@DelightfulTravellers Santiago's got lots to offer, culture and art in the Centro Leon, real DR life in it's surrounding villages. The trains and teleferico are part of the city development not related to the future plans for regional trains, however will certainly be connected.

Hey! Great video…not hard to tell how happy you are. Phillip and Colleen here, we chatted last year. We were the Capers…talked about you CB visit. We will be in Punta Cana for a week and a half arriving in one week Sunday). I will be there in your area (North Shore) in April….to start the move down. Will keep working on meeting up with you and take you both out to dinner….
Hello!! I´m very glad that you are back in my country and that it feels like home to you. Hope you have an amazing time like always. I´ve a couple of sugestions:
1. Laguna Grigri in Rio San Juan (northeast coast, probably a couple of hours drive from Cabarete)
2. Laguna Dudu and Playa El Diamante en Cabrera, both very closed to each other in Cabrera (northeast coast a little to the south of Rio San Juan)
3. Las Dunas in Bani, Peravia. That is in the south of the country
4. I know that you are not looking for the cold, but Constanza is a most, while there you most check out Salto de Aguas Blancas and Valle Nuevo.

You love two of my favourite places… DR (we spend two months in Las Terrenas each winter) and Crete (especially Chania!). Crime in the DR is the only thing that keeps us from spending the whole winter there… wish it was safer

Welcome back to DR guys, I will give you the 3 best view in DR, loma isabel de torres (teleferico) puerto plata, divino niño constanza and loma redonda san jose de ocoa, you can make great videos in those places.

The Love Pop popsicles are a must when you are in Cabarete....they are soooooo delicious! The alley where the Love Pop stand is located is called Paseo Don Chiche. I have tried several popsicles already and must say that they are all just incredibly tasty and surely made with LOVE! 😊
Thanks for the recommendation on where to buy veggies/fruits. Much better to support small business rather than Janet's or La Rosa's.

I’m moving to punta Cana this week - on my new condo no taxes for 15 years . My new place will be vista Cana gated community stunning place new community extremely affordable $ 159k and up , we even have a man made beach , golf 24/7 day and night , fishing 🎣, excellent restaurants in front of the lake this place is big big - -) check it out -) condos for sale at vista Cana punta Cana -)) google or UA-cam it..

Guys guys - have you been to playa Ensenada ? Puerto plata ????? OMG 😳 omg it’s a local hidden beach 🏝️ amazingly beautiful, from there you can take a speed boat to cayó arena island 🏝️ stunning 🤩- you need to go there asap - they have a beautiful hotel 🏨 punta Rusia ecolodge , 7 minutes to the center of town main beach - you must drive around expore the area - another place is call -) playa buen hombre the drive is beautiful around the mountains looks like Arizona super dry - all desert - this place is known for fresh seafood 🦞 and speed boat tours -

If you do go to Bahia de las Aguilas please stay at (eco Del Mar ) $220 ❤ per night with breakfast included on the beach only ❤❤ you will get a villa with AC ocean view - do not do noooot stayed at the cabanas -) they are much cheaper $100 per day 120 degrees no AC - the trip is stunning beautiful

Guys nice video. You can do a Rio san juan tour. Also playa grande, cabrera el saltadero, dudu lagoon. Very nice places ^^.
By the way the most expensive resort in the DR is in Rio San Juan. It's called Amanera. An a very expensive villa too called Ani villa where they filmed the last movie of Jennifer Lopez called shotgun wedding ^^👍👍
