    I loved this one.
    The very human way in which these robots (?) acted made me forget they were robots at all.
    Great story!

    • @DustinRodriguez1_0
      @DustinRodriguez1_0 6 років тому +4

      Given the fact the 'robot' child was physically smaller than the parents, I think it would be more accurate to think of them as human characters just represented by things that look like machines. If they were machine characters with human traits, there would be no reason for the child to be smaller. Machines don't grow.

    • @normm5025
      @normm5025 5 років тому +4

      @@DustinRodriguez1_0 I've seen this "trope" of a smaller child robot in several films, and I reconcile it as follows. As the child robot develops its intellect and becomes more and mature, it is rewarded with extensions to its limbs, or maybe larger limbs, and so on, until it finally reaches adult size. It doesn't have full size when younger because it would be too dangerous and hard to control before its responsibility is fully developed. Imagine if human babies were the size of adults - it would be a nightmare.

      Hollywood is in the last 10 years under pressure to make high profits, that's why Hollywood has produced so many super hero's movies. That is a tried and tested recipe. No western, Romans or Greeks. And no new SF, except for Star Trek and Star Wars.

    I posted this as a reply to a comment on this video, and I'll repost it here just so everyone can see: [This video] isn't anti-religion. It's anti pseudo-science. It just means that you shouldn't blindly trust anything, and that you should approach everything with some level of skepticism. Most christians have, at some point, doubted religion, and have come to different conclusions on what they think is more probable. If you are a christian, or any religion for that matter, and you believe that there is enough evidence to support what you believe in, then this film is not shaming you.

    • @ashleysmith1276
      @ashleysmith1276 6 років тому +7

      Joshua the Coder I can definitely see why some might see this as anti-religion but I agree with you. It is actually encouraging us to not have blind faith.
      However, the problem arises when religions actually REQUIRE foĺlowers to blindly follow, and act like questioning that is blasphemous. That is more a reflection on how religion is wielded by unscrupulous people for their own benefit, and really has nothing to do with each follower's individual connection with their god(s).
      I am an atheist/agnostic - in Britain we mostly are - but I have a lot of respect for people who have a quiet belief in deities. So long as they respect the right of others to think otherwise. x

    "..But there is nothing there!" "IT DOESN'T MATTER! They need to believe in something." - Perfect description of how belief in pre-existing religious constructs requires the activation of continuous unyielding faith to ward off the ever present idea that you may be a willing participant in a lie or delusion... created by a long dead person or persons that were human just like you.
    I wonder if there is a study or computer model that shows the spread of an 'idea' or 'belief' that requires 100% faith across a population. That would be an interesting doctorial thesis, I think.

    • @axeguy3856
      @axeguy3856 5 років тому +1

      @m h Does being tired of having nonsensical bullshit rammed down your throat make you 'self-righteous'? As a secular humanist, my energies and critical thinking are spent on real human problems or dilemmas. I believe in the human race, Science, and the welfare of our planet. Believe what makes you a better human. I don't care what it is unless it's continually causing problems for the rest of us. I have friends in all walks of life and, actually, I have coffee and discussion with a Catholic Priest, a Professor of Theology, and a remarkable number of spiritual people. I respect what they do because these particular people make the world a better place. What they don't do is push their critical faculties aside. If you don't practice what you preach or tell me that I am going to hell, perhaps your self-righteous self might see my assertion that your evangelism is a ridiculous waste of your time as, I guess, 'self-righteousness'. If Jesus came back, he would not go to your church, he would go to the poor and downtrodden. (Yeah, I read your books. He appears to me to be a great teacher, problem-solver, and champion of humanitarian causes.) He would not be happy at the state of the human race. You had your two thousand years to make the world a better place. It didn't take because it didn't work. Why not use the tools we ACTUALLY have to elevate the human race? Open the effectively-evolved eyes you believe were 'Created' for you! Oooo...I'm so so so self-righteous...
