As a Manchester United fan (who if I was to support a German team would support dortmund) I'm happy that he'll get game time again and if he lights up the bundesliga, hope he'll get back into the England squad.
I do wish he'd been able to put his ego aside and just apologise. As I think he'd have helped united out. But it is good to see him go to a place where he'll be loved by the fans, he wants to play and hopefully he can do well for himself. Good luck with your season.

Just to add, ETH has publicly mentioned Rashford’s lateness, Antony’s lack of output and Maguire’s form. It’s not just Sancho, ETH calls it as he sees it.
ETH also shielded Sancho for 3/4 months last season, giving him a break from football to work on those mental health issues. He tried the “arm around the shoulder” support and it didn’t work.
Man United fans complain there’s too much Player Power over the manager, but then everyone moans when the manager actually calls the players out and reclaims that power. There’s issues with ETH but I don’t think this is one of them.
I had a lot of love for Sancho, and the talent is there for everyone to see, but it’s hard to sympathise with someone when they can’t even arrive on time for work regularly, like the rest of us have to do for 100 times less money.
Hopefully his mentality gets sorted and he’ll show everyone what he’s capable of consistently.

I guess, it won't be the best outview for you when you hear that Sancho seems to always have been late at Dortmund, as well... They just usually went with it and did not punish it very often, and so it worked for both sides in Dortmund, but I guess this approach wasn't the best for his development in the long term...

    • @MrTuttiFrutti
      @MrTuttiFrutti Рік тому +2

@@SamWinchester000 as you said correctly, that approach of allowing him to be late was a huge mistake by Dortmund.
Discipline is an integral part of this game and you can't allow even one player to be above it because you'll lose the locker room if you do that.
Sancho is wrong, he's a spoiled brat, he should've worked harder to prove ETH wrong but instead he chose to throw tantrums.

Rashford doesn't get dropped for being late. Rashford wasn't signed and then a year later watch the new manager sign his awful mate to replace his position. Rashford didn't have to sit on the bench and watch a clearly inferior player get selected every week. Then after all that Rashford wasn't used as a scape goat to deflect from his managers terrible tactical decisions.
Ten Hag is awful. Sancho, De gea, Casemiro let down whilst he continually plays Antony, Rashford, Onana and McTominay. And Mount no.7.
      Ten Hag out.

I'm a United fan and I always feel bad for our players when they don't succeed but you have to also look at this as a two way thing. Ten Haag shouldn't have said that about Sancho but also he didn't say all that out of spite. Matic said it himself and look at him also in Man City and Dortmund. At the biggest clubs in the world there is a standard and you have to work for it. I look at players like Lingard and Pogba and then i look at other players who have broken out to the first team like Mainoo and Rashford, they showed they needed and wanted it that's what a manager wants. So if Sancho doesn't put his head down and put in work he'll never recover. As a football fan he is a generational talent and i want him to succeed but he won't do it if he continues like this.

How Jadon Sancho fares on his return to Borussia Dortmund is down to the player and whether he decides he wants to be committed and get his career back on track or continues going downhill in the way in which he did at Manchester United. There were lot of factors as to why his move to Manchester United just never worked out as yes they’re a graveyard football club and the environment around this team is so toxic the player has some responsibility in the way he wasted his career. Jadon Sancho isn’t the only player that forgot how to play football after going to Manchester United, it’s happened with a lot of players recently he also has to shoulder some blame for the way he handled his situation.
Some of his issues at Manchester United were down to the attitude, the poor work ethic in training leading him to be dropped from the squad and instead of apologizing to Erik ten Hag, he decided not to play him and the player didn’t play he was comfortable in collecting his wages, not doing anything and enjoyed playing video games at home all day. I also think that both the player and manager never sorted out their problems and you can see why every manager that has walked into the Manchester United dressing room, something has to happen every season from the Ronaldo situation to Sancho’s public fall out and tweet, Manchester United are making themselves look like a joke and Erik ten Hag’s man management isn’t fixing things. He’s only played 76 minutes of football this season and now he’s back on Borussia Dortmund where he has another chance in a career revival because if he doesn’t get his form back there’s a fear that United won’t be able to offload him as no team would be interested in signing him. That’s the situation that he put himself in with his attitude and he’s 23 years old and with his return to Borussia Dortmund, he hopes that he can play more and find his level again and that’ll be an insult to Manchester United if this actually happens. He doesn’t kick a ball for months and then back at a club where he was successful he produces the goods again and hopefully he learns how to play football again at Borussia Dortmund.

      Why wasn't Sancho played?
      He wasn't training well.

There have been a few that did that. But its such a constant issue in such a high frequence that the CLUB is doing something wrong. The time for excuses like that should have been over half a decade ago but people are still adamant to make the players the main problem.

Ever since that newcastle game in which ten hag said "rashford works hard" i stopped believing him when he claims a player is ousted because they don't work hard enough. Martial, Rashford, Mctominay etc he clearly has no issues selecting players that don't put in the effort.
I have a little conspiracy theory that he picks targets in the team that don't have much friends(so they would be easier to get rid of) and basically annoys them until he gets an emotional outburst, which he then uses as ammunition to get rid of them.
It worked on ronaldo and sancho. Varane didn't take the bait. Which forced ten hag to begrudgingly accept him back in to the squad.

There is a reason why even Ajax fans were laughing at the insane price tag.
Antony barely scored, barely had any assists and was only good enough to perform on occassion.
I myself am a Feyenoord fan and always thought of it as rather dumb of United to pick Antony for that money.

How Manchester United destroys (most of) its players.
    1. Target an exciting prospect. Pay 3x times the amount he's actually worth. If he's English, pay 5x that amount. Also, they need to offer lucrative wages.
    2. Give him an iconic number and start putting the weight of expectations on his young shoulders.
    3. Expect him to start delivering world class performances from the get go. If not, the English media takes over and starts the comparison factor with all time greats.
    4. The player can't handle the responsibility and begins performing poorly. He is then benched by the manager and hardly gets a few minutes which affect his growth.
    5. The player's morale hits an all time low. He will either give up his focus and continue with poor performances or he demands to leave.
    6. The club gets frustrated and tries to offload him. But with the kind of wages they have offered, no club is interested so the player waits till the contract runs out, enjoying the wages he's on.
    7. He finally leaves and finds form again at the new club. But now he's probably nearing 30s and he never reaches the heights everyone expected.
    8. The player is labelled as a failed talent and retires early or some other league.

Blind would never succeed in the top of the premier league, and for good reasons. Speed, defensive skills, height, etc. Blind is a creative genius, but top PL sides don't build up like that. And the most intensive league would put too much light on his flaws.
Depay isn't good enough, he went to Ligue 1, a very physical league and his physicality is his key attribute. In La Liga he isn't as key either at Barcelona or Atlético Madrid. (Plus, he is a dickhead)

As a Dortmund fan, I'm so fucking excited to see him play for us again! It sucks how United treated him and how all of this negativity happened. Now he's gonna be great again!

Erik gave him months mental recuperation and when he played he was average at best and crap at worst, plus all the other places that had him complain about him as well,so not saying erik is totally innocent but sancho ain't no victim.

United set Ten Hag for failure.
They should have offloaded Sancho and Ronaldo BEFORE Ten Hag even arrived.
Players like these two have huge ego (understandable) thanks to their high potential and reputation that surpass United’s capability in the recent years. Of course, they’re gonna rebel against a coach that they think is beneath them.
And Ten Hag works best with promising youngsters who are 100% obedient to him, not the established superstars (look at his Ajax superteam).
Ronaldo’s rebellion set a precedent for any player to rebel against Ten Hag following him. Sancho is his first follower. Ten Hag now has to spend more time dealing with politics outside the pitch more than football inside the pitch. That’s why the team performs poorly. If he’s fired today and go back to Ajax., I fully believe that he will revive Ajax and bring them back to its former glory.
It’s easy to pin the blame on just one manager nobody likes. It’s hard to look deeper in the rotten club structure that killed so many managers’ careers. I mean, it’s not a coincidence that Van Gaal and Mourinho, whose profile are much better than Ten Hag, failed at this club for the very same reason.

His treatment isn’t petty when you consider the fact that there have been players to leak things in the past. I really do want to see him succeed At United
