She called it “the little ways of spiritual childhood”. Benedict XV said that it holds “the secret of sanctity” and Pius XI declared that “human society would be reformed and restored if this way of spiritual childhood were followed.”

The one saint I always wished to be like, please pray for me St.Therese to love God like you loved Him in little ways.......
I wasn't raised Catholic (or Protestant, for that matter) but came to Christianity as an adult. I love St. Therese. I first read about her in a relatively unknown contemporary novel called 'Household Saints', where a young girl named Teresa wanted to be just like the Little Flower. St. Therese acknowledged that she was only a very little person, and could only serve God in very little ways. So to me she serves as a daily reminder that we don't have to accomplish tremendous heroic deeds for God's glory; we can make perfectly small and 'ordinary' sacrifices with love. In a celebrity-and-fame-obsessed society, it helps me to remember that the 'little ways' absolutely count for much.
