I'm really glad I stumbled across this video as I have been thinking about going to Gloucester from Hereford on the bus to visit Gloucester cathedral. Anyway, love the video! Thanks for sharing.
It was the 38 route, thirty odd years ago. I've still got a ticket for it. You'd usually get a Leyland National "Red & White" with "posh" coach seats. The driver sometimes delivered newspapers. Chucking a bundle out of the door at one stop . The traffic looks bad in places there. Always said they should reopen the Hereford to Gloucester railway.
I'd love the Hereford and Gloucester railway to return, and I agree it'd be great with today's traffic. I've only lived in Herefordshire for a decade or so, but I believe that the 33 used to be known as the 38 between Ross and Hereford as recent as 2006/07 - an old Herefordshire bus timetable I bought for area 3 says about the 38. You might know when it changed from 38 to 33?
@@herefordbuses I can only guess that it was sometime in the 90's when the bus companies were regrouped. Once that happened, a lot of route numbers were changed to reflect the individual companies systems.
Another good route I recommend is the 32, another Ross on Wye to Gloucester route but goes via Newent. It has really nice scenery! (however, only two journeys a day do the full route to Ross on Wye, most terminate at Newent)
Yeah, I'm going to see if I can do the full route for that one, although I'll have to wait until the summer. Stagecoach have only said they'll guarantee the Ross journey until the end of the school year unfortunately, although if they continue it beyond the end of the school year then I may be able to film it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Third comment I know sorry. Having now done the 33 end to end as well, I think Ross on Wye to Hereford is also a great section! And Hereford is a lovely town. If it weren't for copyright claims, I would have used Ellie Goulding songs on my Hereford visuals. Because: she was born in Hereford!
Don't worry, I don't mind about how many comments you leave :) Ross to Hereford is great as well, both can be really scenic although I think the Gloucester section can be a bit nicer. I would also do the same if it weren't for copyright claims. Also, Hereford is actually a city, not a town, although it's quite a small one.

Looks like Stagecoach will be running the service beyond the end of the school year, which is great news, and I will get round to filming it then!
@@herefordbuses Ooh that's awesome them!
