There is a LOT to see in Historical Cebu City, and I really liked how all this was within walking distance ! Only the Lechon places needed a vehicle to get to. Let's check out Cebu 🙂
The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral has service or holy mass every hour on the hour as early as 6am until 9pm during Sundays to give everyone the chance to go to church. If you're working in the city, there is no excuse not to hear mass. Yes, both the Basilica del Santo Santo Nino and Cathedral churches are busy house of worship on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm glad you walked around Cebu's heritage sites and learned the rich history of the place. Going to the Cebu Provincial Capitol is another long walk along Jones Avenue - designed as part of beautiful city plans by American architect William Parsons. Yes, there is history and culture in Cebu. You did a good job of exploring the city on foot. Good luck and stay safe in your travels.
Thanks 😃. Yeah Tatang's is so satisfying ! I'm wondering how good a "whole pig" Lechon can get compared to a lechon belly only place. Fun to experiment though (meaning, to eat 😄)
Cebuanos never question and argue the authenticity of Magellan's Cross. The original wooden cross was encased in that wooden cross standing inside the kiosk. It was 1521 and no one has seen it. We believe it's in there. The old downtown is where the city's heritage sites are thats walking distance from each other. No need to take a ride. Thanks for visiting my city. Watching you in California. More power to your vlog.
Hello Raman been awhile! Nice to see a new video 💚 of Cebu. And wow that historical house. It looks more like a Filipino house not Chinese. Really enjoyed the tour of the historic sites. Lechon for breakfast and dinner. I knew it Tatang’s the winner…sarap! How long do we wait for the next video 😂? Enjoy your travels and take care 🙏
Hi Amalia. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the nice comment 🙏. The sites were conveniently near each other, perfect to visit by foot ! Lechon is so satisfying, I tried to eat as much as I could while in Cebu 😄. Thanks to my brother for telling me about Tatang's, it's such a small place I don't think I would've found it just by luck on my own. I'm surprised you (and others) even know about it, I guess it's popular ?!? Next video, it should be within a week 🤞. Thanks again 🙂
Hi! The reason why Filipino foods or "ulam" are very savory or saltier is because they're always eaten with rice. Rice serves as a balancer. It's hard to see foreigners eating meat straight all the way without rice (we shudder hahaha). As a whole, Filipinos can't eat ulam without rice. Lechon is so good but it's not a breakfast food. Have a nice and enjoyable time! :)
OK. Yes I have heard that before about the rice. I do eat some rice with Lechon, but not as much as a local would eat I guess 😄. I suppose Lechon isn't for breakfast, but it seems like the crowds get to Talisay super early, and well, it's essentially breakfast at that point 😄
