- In this video, I show you and tell you how to turn on a TV without a remote. If you have lost your television remote and you want to watch your favorite show, then this is the video for you. You can still likely power on your TV and change the channel and volume using some of the buttons or dials on the side or the back of the TV. I show you exactly how to do it throughout the video with some simple instructions!

Saved the day! Until I find the remote, this was a quick fix! Found what I thought in the past was just an on-off power switch, but with the advice from this video, I discovered rhat with a light touch I could change channels, change the volume and more. Great for now! I'll look for the remote tomorrow... : D. THANK YOU!
Ive run my hand around and hadn't found a power button. Did it again to prove your wrong and find it. It's a single button built into the power light area. Felt like the screw mounts instead if a button. I pressed two screws prior to that one. Never give up lol.

Oh wow I never thought to look on my TV to see if there was a power button. I feel kind of dumb but thanks for the help. My remote stopped working. My TV is kind of old cause I bought it online to replace another TV I had it’s an old RCA.

My power is on the front panel, it has touch screen no buttons. So check along the very front panel along the edges… along the lower panel at the edge looking at me but fwd my right hand side. Mine has the power up and down words. Press the actual words since there are not button…. Maybe you have a kind like mine. Who knows.

On my TV it only shows the imput but it stay on antenna and I need to get to hdmi1 even though I select that and it doesn't go to it

If you don't have a surge protector and the power goes out, UNPLUG the TV, wait a bit, plug it back in. THAT is what worked for us.

Can't change the channel. Apparently it was on cable when I lost the remote. Tried to change the channel & now can't get anything but static. This did not help at all in that situation. You might put up a warning to others, that if it's on cable, you won't be able to watch tv at all if you do this!

It is absurd that these tv companies are so short sighted when they design these things. They've oversaturated their market so at least TVs are pretty damn cheap these days. There should be no reason for a video that exists that explains how to turn a TV on without a remote control, it should be a button you push and that's it. It's even more absurd that this video has 105 thousand views in 9 months because that many people found this issue with their own TVs. I misplaced my remote this morning and was stuck with a TV that I could not turn the volume down on or turn off, I had to power cycle the damn tv. These things are supposed to be intuitive like they were in years past.
