- I´m excited to share one of my favorite old-fashioned Easter egg-dying technique that has been in my family for a very long time. This unique natural egg-dying technique has been passed down through generations in my family. It's not just about coloring eggs, it's about preserving a piece of our heritage and discovering opportunities of nature.
Sending much love,
Karin 🌸

RECIPE
All you need:
🥚 White eggs (unboiled)
🧅 Onion skins
🧶 Textile (optional) - I like to use medical gaze, as it stretches and it´s easier to wrap it around the egg.
🧵 Thread
✂️ Scissors
💧 Pot and water for boiling eggs
1. Wrap the egg into onion skins, the more different base layers you can create the better, and the more interesting pattern you will have. Feel free to use different leaves and flowers to create even more unique patterns. Make sure that they are not poisonous.
2. Wrap the egg into the textile, this will help to hold everything together. Wrap the thread around the skins and textile, making sure it´s tight enough to hold the skins, leaves, and flowers you added in place.
3. Place the wrapped eggs into the pot and fill it with water. Boil for around 10 min just like you would normally boil them.
4. Rinse with cold water to cool the eggs down.
5. And the most exciting part - unwrapping! Gently unwrap the wrapping, voila! Rub with a drop of olive oil to add extra shine!

Those are the most beautiful eggs I have ever seen in my whole life! Thanks for sharing this special tradition from your family! Love from MN USA
Oh thank you so so much! 🥰
Absolutely incredible result! It was so soothing to watch this video, somehow the sound of these onion skins was so calming! I agree that we need to live in a way that we are connected to nature. ❤ The colours of the video are soo gorgeous!
Aww, thank you, your feedback always means a lot. 🥰🌸
I really enjoyed creating that video - a slow moment for myself. And the sound of crunching onion skins is somehow satisfying to listen to. Maybe it’s because we humans are always connected with nature and all the nature sounds are relaxing and comforting. ☺️🌿
Each new video has such a natural calming effect. Love it. Thanks for the tips!
So happy to hear that, thank you for watching. 🥰🌸

Love it! A beautiful Easter decor and a fun activity 🐰 Your videos are so soothing to watch, love to see the world through an onion skin 🥰💛
Sometimes (most of the times) we don’t need much than onion skins, it’s how we use them. The less we have the more creative we become. 🥰
Million thanks for kind words, it means a world to me! 🥰🌸
@@karinkallas Couldn’t agree more ❤
Funny that I didn’t like those onion skin eggs at childhood but now I can’t believe how beautiful those eggs actually look 😳🥚
I wonder if there’s something more you can use to colour your easter eggs 🤔
Hahaha, at that time it was the only option to color the eggs, we didn’t have vibrant egg paints etc. 😆
Oh there’s so many different ways you can dye eggs naturally, I really want to try red cabbage, as it gives beautiful blue color (but the process is bit different, you create the tincture and then soak the eggs in that for couple of hours). I have tested cowslip (in a same way as you use onion skins), it gave a beautiful yellow color. 🤩
Greens give yellowish green color, I think that peppermint could work for that… 🧑🏻🍳🥚
