The creator stated that to draw Flora he got his inspiration from Jenifer Lopez.
Flora was indeed Latina/Hispanic coded since she was modeled off of JLO. I saw on Twitter that (allegedly) they might make Terra (Flora’s replacement) Flora’s cousin which honestly doesn’t sit right with me since they’re passing off a cis white actress as a Half white half Latina/Hispanic. Another thing that bothers me is that not only did they cast a 1/4 Asian in Musa’s role but they changed her powers from being the “Fairy of Music” to “The Mind Fairy” which if she is intended to be Asian coded, in my opinion in kind of reinforces the stereotype that “All Asians are smart” and I feel like Musa’s passion for music was what made her character really compelling considering the tragic events concerning her mother. The last nitpick I have is the ATROCIOUS fashion and color palettes for the clothing which honestly doesn’t make the actresses look flattering and I feel like they missed the mark when it came to their individual style and color association since Bloom was associated with Blue, Stella was associated with Orange, Tecna was associated with Purple/Green, Musa was associated with Red/pink, Flora was associated with pink, and Aisha was associated with Green/blue.

yess I agree!! I just wanted to add that bloom is blue and pink, stella was orange and pink, and flora was pink and green. Also I believe musa was red and purple, but she wore some pink too

Musa was modeled off of Lucy Liu, Flora was modeled off of JLO, Bloom was modeled off of Brittney Spears, Layla was modeled off of Beyoncé, Tecna was modeled off of Pink, and Stella was modeled off of Cameron Diaz
i just stumbled on this video while watching videos reaction of winx club trailer, she just literally doing her make up and talking her hearts out about the winx LOL . to all the videos i watch this is my fav. haha

In my opinion, RAI English was the best dub because it was the most faithful to the show unlike the 4kids dub. They made no changes except change Aisha’s name to Layla.
I loved the 4kids version, mainly because that’s the one I grew up with (well for three years from the time I was 10 to right after I turned 13) and to me, the 4kids had the best voice actors.
It should not be called winx saga, it's not the same thing
Theres no techna which is ridiculous because she was a role model for anyone who felt outcasted for being smart in school; so that's dumb.
They converted musa into being a mind fairy from a music fairy, and that music represented her culture and her powers, the mind thing seems like it's got racist connotations to me. The culture part made me so upset, they whitewashed musa😭😭
Flora is latino and they got rid of her. They really out here whitewashing anyone. Theres only one black woman and that's it for the diversity. They brought in a cousin instead called terra, which the ogs cannot even resonate with and they know nothing about her.
Aisha wasnt even in season 1, she arrived in season 2, and she joined the team then, but the ppl casting probably realised their show was just white so they added her into the mix.
They're trying to make it into adult content but winx club fans and anyone would enjoy the colourful culture and their transformation more than the gloom.
THERES NO TRIX. They were the main villains and they were always there, the fact they got rid of them is pathetic and lousy.
Its not winx club netflix should just give it another name and move on bc this actually runs my childhood.i will be watching it thought, but just to criticise it because I'm actually mad
Edit: Why are they trying to add in riverdale type shit, do they not know how bad riverdale is, I bet they didnt even watch the original winx club bc if it's for og fans then they did a horrific job.

I love The fact that unlike The other Winx fans, you have a more balanced point of view ! Not too emotive, you try to understand Netflix choice without being hatefull. Also, it's a popular Idea to Say that Flora IS hispanic but I don't assume that. Flora is just tan. I think that The Winx were not designed After celebrities at the begining. Look The beta version of Winx club, they Don't look like celebrities

First 2 seasons on nick, 4 specials, not to be rude. Aisha was her original Italian name but 4kids changed it for some reason.
The original was so bright and colorful while still having serious plot lines. I don’t understand this dark color scheme they’re going with. I don’t like it at all.

This is so DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!! it is nothing like the WINX CLUB! If the writer didn't agree with SO many elements with the original then he should have left it ALONE! the whole reason why we loved the Winx club as kids is because of its unrealistic nature!!!!!! This is really bad. The writer clearly wanted to tell a whole different story rather than the Winx club. So disgusted by this. It's SO white washed!!!! like could they only afford ONE coloured person?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!? Couldn't they look for younger people?!?! They expect us to believe these over 35 people are teenagers?!?!?! And their outfit!!!!!!! let's not go there..... That 5 second of blooms transformation literally brought me to tears. I used to love their transformation and WINGS
Actually, Musa was inspired by actress Lucy Liu. She's Taiwanese, so more close to Chinese culture, not the Japanese one.
