  • A priest has taken to the streets to carry out mobile church services and sermons via loudspeaker, despite admitting he risks breaching social distancing regulations.
Pat Allerton, is the vicar at St Peter's church in Notting Hill, west London. For the past two weeks he decided to pack a loudspeaker in his car and drive around the capital preaching and playing hymns in a bid to lift the nation’s spirits.
His efforts come as many religious groups plan to celebrate major festivals. Not only does this week mark Holy Week for Christians in the lead up to Easter, but today is also the first night of Passover for Jews. Meanwhile, Muslims are preparing to mark Ramadan later this month.
