  • Theres not a lot of videos on the web about what it looks like when you candle chicken eggs. How do you know your chicks are developing properly and are on schedule to hatch at day 21?
We use the dry hatch method and have had great success with very little worry about humidity and temperature.
So whats going on in that egg at day 10? What can you see? You see heartbeats, heads and the silhouette of beaks and feet. Perhaps the shape of a wing.
You see lots of movement in strong healthy eggs and thick veins providing blood to the growing embryo. On the outside youll start to see the egg move and twitch a little and the tip of the egg begin to dip downward as the chick grows and settles into that end.
    Happy hatching!

I do miss Yoda as well. Maybe I’ll ask his mom one day if I can come visit.

What’s even cooler is that these were eggs in a farmstand! 🤣
