    What I personally dont understand is how people are letting their dislike for Eric cloud their judgement. The algorithm spotted the cheating and Eric played it cool. He said let the site do the investigation. They also don't understand how coaching works when you're playing online. If you have willing volunteers then it's not smurfing or cheating. They agreed to the rules, they would play an honest game and the coach and the student can discuss it. Now when the volunteer cheats it's obviously justified in banning him he played dishonestly and Eric and Dan played honestly.

      "Having a GM right next to you, telling you what moves to make and what threats to look out for, which greatly influences your decisions, guiding you to make better moves that will win you the game isn't cheating." - ... Then what the fuck is it? It's like "Who wants to be a Millionaire", but you have some super-book-nerd by your side, telling you what the answers are, until you win.
      The volunteers might agree to Dan using Eric to cheat, in the name of "coaching", but it's still cheating.

    Is it jealousy that causes people to cheat in chess? Do they get some kind of satisfaction by watching an engine beat a good player? I am rated above 2100 on a few sites, and I can't count the number of times that I get a notice that points have been returned to me due to yet another cheater being caught.

    Subtle cheater. 2-1-0 inaccuracy-mistake blunder. It’s actually a believable game for a 1600, although 71% best moves in a 39 move game is rare, but it happens too. I’ve had 1-0-0s with low ACPL and other games just like this in the past, albeit infrequently.
    Chess.com algorithm must be very good to catch this guy.

      The critical moments defines the difference between Masters and Regular players. At 7:57 you have to spot the whole sequence to checkmate which is at least a 2200+ tactic. I guarantee you 99% of players would play Rxc5 without thinking twice.

    • @antichrist.superstar
      @antichrist.superstar 3 роки тому +1

      @@faznaz7455 Most players, most of the time, won’t see it. But if you’re familiar with combinations you’ll notice that you can set up the Arabian mate in only 2 moves (if Ra2+ Kf3 Ng4) or trap the king on back rank and win back the piece with check if Ra2+ Kg1 Rxg2+. These are actually short (2-3 move) sequences, and there is time to calculate them in a rapid game, and a 1600 would be capable. And combinational knowledge makes it much easier to see these things, it could be a strong point of his. And I would guess this is an 1800 level tactic.
      Yes, you really must be looking for it. But it’s not at all unbelievable if he were just “on”. My guess is he had phenomenal games like this just too often and that’s why he got caught.
