I've seen this floating around various places and wondered what it was and how it compared with the more popular Evolution and Evolution Climate, which I have played and own. Your review is thorough, yet concise. There are a lot of similarities between this game and the newer Evolution games, both in game mechanic and the trait descriptions. So I had to check to see if the game published by Northstar Games kinda ripped this one off. It turns out no. Both games are developed by the same people. This one plays more similarly to Evolution: the Beginning. So for anyone coming here with interest in buying this game... I'd say go for the updated game published by NorthStar, and I recommend the version with the Climate expansion built in.
Archaeology only dig up fossils, but it has no clue of Time and energy. How did the various patterns in the past atmospheres alter? So to say I have a firm belief that some of the mythological creatures in religious scriptures were real, but become extinct. The only tool I know to unlock those past mysteries is the Enlightenment of His Venerable Buddha called The Threefold Knowledge (วิชชา3).
I have this and spent about an hour and a half trying it out with a friend today. We're both fairly intelligent professionals and figure games out quickly. Not with this. Maybe we were reading too much into things, but the rules supplied with the game leave a bit to be desired. This review (and several others on UA-cam) are very helpful, as is the FAQ for this game on boardgamegeek.com. Fun game, but the learning curve is a little more than the rules may suggest.
It's a fun game, but one will do well to research play online and do a few test runs before breaking it out at a function. I just got the TIME TO FLY expansion. Have you tried it?
Sam Williams I have not tried it. I no longer own the game, but a friend in my group has both the base game and expansion. I don't think he's cracked the shrink on it even. :)
@Stud McMuffin The best place is eBay. The publisher sells it directly through there.

Definitely agree!
Whoa, thanks for the recommendation! I just checked out Evolution from Northstar Games and it seemed more simplified and the artwork is stunning!

Yes. I remember one or two wrinkles that really threw us for a loop the first time or two we played. I thought I was the only one! Guess not :)

Haha, great little game...! I have to find that one ... sounds like a fun short thematic game indeed! :)
