Lovely segment.
THANK YOU for sharing !!!!
re: Films or text by or about Boulanger. Thanks for the comment on the film.
There was a film in 1977 titled, "Nadia Boulanger: Mademoiselle" I have found it on amazon.com and I imagine that it can be found on other retail sites as well. Clips of it have been posted on youtube if you type in "Nadia Boulanger teaching" Hope this is helpful!
His laugh probably sound like “hugh hugh hugh”
les quatuors fabuleux de carter me rappellent ceux de schoenberg , carter poursuit l école de vienne par ses compositions minimalistes , épurées , il reste tant à découvrir des travaux de carter comme avec berg , webern , bartok ,
Did Boulanger publish any texts? Are there any films of her teaching, etc?
What film is this from?
more like the way we live. piston.Boulez certainly sounds like now way back in 48 with his 2nd sonata.it is a shame more people dont feel when they look at contemp architecture, paining and music.if they did they would understand more.
When Mademoiselle Boulanger tells you the dissonant music is a thing of the past, you'd better listen to her. Poulenc did, and it made him a master!
@@bluebellbeatnik4945 So long as man is on this earth, the overtone series will reign supreme.
Mademoiselle....
His style is Schoenberg without melodies lol
It's more vivid...Carter makes important point about contemporary music reflecting contemporary life. One can listen to Mozart. One won't feel the rush of a subway car passing while you stand on the platform. However, one might feel that literal rush listening to Carter, at least the work after his first pieces.
"One can listen to Mozart. One won't feel the rush of a subway car passing while you stand on the platform." Sounds good to me!
