This video is the first on this channel to take a look at a Portuguese channel, and my next video will look at the idents from RTP2. RTP 1 is the main and first television channel in Portugal. The Portuguese public broadcasting corporation was founded by Radio e Televisao de Portugal (founded 1935 as Emissora Nacional) on 7th March 1957. They were formerly known as RTP, I Programa and RTP Canal 1. I've always wanted to make a video on RTP1 since 2015, when I saw an ident history video on the channel back around November-December 2015. Some of the idents were abridged to prevent copyright, and footage for the eight ident is lost. I remember seeing it back in 2018 and it was deleted some time ago, sadly I forgot to download it.
