greatleapforwards The mile is not an event in which is designated to run very much at all. I don’t think It’s in the olympics either. 1500 is the event. Other even not ran much are the 3200 meters and 600 meters. That record stayed because no one runs it. It’s rare. So get over that dude and move on don’t be stuck on el guerrouj. His 15 minute was over decades ago. Go away.
@@elijahmiles3500 This was an indoor race. You have no idea what you are talking about. Plus, "professional time"? A small handful of runners gain enough through sponsorships or study grants to concentrate for a relatively short period of time on athletics. So most of the others are semi-professional, at best. Existing on part-time work, family support, maybe shoe contracts/merch deals. It's financially tough... and that's before the times achieved even come into it.
Jakob Ingebrigsten for example ran a 3:51. And took second to Cheriyot who ran like a 3:49. That was outdoor, but Jakob would've been seconds in front of him in this race. I'm thinking more in the 3:53 zone.
It's hard to run fast indoors because you take more turns than outdoors. Tefera has a great future. He reminds me of a young Haile Gebrselassie.
Why no clock?
i think this is just raw footage, there will be a clock in a different edited video soon probably
I finished 4 slices of pizza by the time these guys finished the mile. Beat that record
Start a pizza mile race
I only had 3.55. Well done
It would be a great record if Tefera did the same time after eating 4 slices of pizza.
Race starts at 1:41
Nice run by ANDRE, can't wait to see him in the olympics.
Poor Tefera
What happened to him? He was shut down in the semi's
Will there be Jakob Ingebrigtsen in any races at AIT ?
3:55 9 Blistering fast.
How tf you make a 3:55.9 looks so easy, holy shit.
El Guerrouj use to run 3:55 in his sleep lol.....Track & Field misses the 🐐
House of Guards maybe not so soon
El Guerrouj is the GOAT at this distance for a reason.....
Saad El
You need to get over that el guerouj dude it’s over 30+ years old. It’s very irrelevant.
@@AncientPharaoh lol... 30 years later and he still owns the record for the mile....30 years later and still only 3 people have run under 3:46

It looks like the second pacer could have finished the race in a very good time... mayble close to Tefera.
Yah but he has used all his energy
Jegnaw bro
YES, he is from country side, he keeps his face strong, TEFERA BEAT JAKOB JEGNAW!
6:58 calm and relax! Did he even run his 100%?
Nah no way that was 100%, he’s got some fast miles in store for the future
3:55.9
Very slow. 3:50 is a professional time.

Elijah Miles brooo what heck no it was indoors as well remember that, he’s flying dude
What a contest eh...? FFS.
I love track, love the mile...and hate paced races. The only exciting part of this race was when Fay launched a challenge.
Hopeless pace setting no clock for lap times rubbish viewing
