I just got this when it was on sale for a great deal on Amazon and thought of sending it back for something with more features. However this does offer Lifetime free updates and now I wonder if it's worth holding onto as a backup or supplement scan tool. What's your opinion?

Hi Leta thanks for watching and subscribing! The Kingbolen S500/600/800 series scan tools are great standalone units so you're not tying up your phone using it as a scan tool.
Moving up to get more features is completely understandable, and if you have a need for a backup scan tool I would definitely hang on to the S500 as their software seems very reliable and smooth 👍👍
