Genuinely can’t get over after all this time Scorpy seeing Luke in the Bacta tank and saying “is that Darth Vader without the suit?”, unintentionally making an EXTREMELY APPROPRIATE cinematic parallel.
coming back to this i cant stop thinking about how funny the implications would be if vader really did reveal luke had two dads 😭😭 luke being so upset his dads were gay that he lets go to fall to his death and the twist was just that hes SEVERELY homophobic
Also love how scorpy instantly knows about Jizz music, probably one of the more obscure star wars facts but takes what is probably a good like mintue to figure out the famous "luke i am your father" line, a line people who never seen star wars know about.
this feels like watching one of those animal reasoning tests (math, language, etc) where the poor beast is getting correct answers by looking for body language cues from its handlers. except with wrong answers gotten honestly and with humans. so not the same at all and YET scorpy exhibits a similar mastery of "star wars" to a horse asked to do math.
i was crying 19 minutes in because you get: -hang out, we must -is that boba fetts feet??? -thinking yoda was hung for his crimes and then -is this where he smokes weed??
I was curious about the lack of the sequels when I looked at the chapters, but I definitely agree with what they said. I overall enjoyed them but they're definitely not as goofy as the others can seem when you go over them beat-by-beat, and simply the fact that they're new makes it not nearly as funny to not know anything about them. Like Scorpy went his entire life somehow dodging the "I am your father" line, at least to the point where he didn't recoginze the scene. He grew up OWNING prequel merch, and saw one of them in theatres as a child and still knew next to nothing about them. That's fucking hilarious. But if they were to go over the sequels it would just be like "yeah no shit you don't recognize Snap Wexley by name. You have no reason to." They just aren't engrained enough in pop culture, and had no place in 2000's pop culture, so it's just not the same.
You can get some funny stuff from the sequels (at least the two after force awakens given that one is just new hope again) but I feel it's only funny or interesting jn the context of knowing star wars. Like Ochi, the Sith Assassin is a funny character if you realize his backstory and how underused he was in the series being an expert assassin who failed upwards and then died in a worm pit in the last movie but that needs a bunch of context to be humorous like knowing he's oddly responsible for the most of the sequel franchise via comics and outside not something you can easily point at on a screen and laugh at like Yoda "sleeping"
@@boodle399He died in a pit with a knife that leads back to the remnants of the second Death Star, and if you stand in a very specific spot, you’ll be able to pull a thingy out that points to where a Sith pyramid is. However, that’s only useful if you no clip and move straight ahead. God, that’s such a fun movie to pick apart.
A book revealed the song “Mad about Me” (the Cantina song) is apparantly being played horribly off-key in the movie because Figrin D’an and Modal Nodes were intensely high during that performance.
IVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY NEVER DID THE STAR WARS STREAM AND WAS SO SAD (got into wrtvs through hlvrai) BUT NOW I SEE THIS!!! thank you for the edit so so so much :)
What's weird is how they're treating this as completely exceptional when its actually a pretty normal thing for someone of Scorpy's age who grew up not in the USA. His knowledge is all stuff that someone who was a kid around then would have seen because the prequels' marketing was EVERYWHERE but it was all very weird specific stuff, like yeah, Mace Windu being a guy with a purple lightsaber is a thing I remember knowing BEFORE I'd ever seen star wars stuff, for some reason that was just a thing people talked about
this stream was genuinely refreshing bc i've been so soured on Star Wars from the.... shall we say less than stellar sequels and Disney milking the franchise (i agree with Mike that they just don't add anything) and this reminds me that star wars is actually good sometimes. and when it's not good it's at least funny. it was also incredibly fun and wholesome, from chat cheering scorpy on to all three of them remembering their shared merch :))
i may be misremembering, but i think that when scorpy was talking about 'that's no moon' and then there's a buttcrack, i think that might be a joke from the family guy parody
I spent about 8 minutes wondering why Wayne's voice sounded so weird and then I realized it was Mike Edit: Scorpy's Phantom Menace storyboard is intense
mastergir joining the call for 2 seconds just to say "maclunky" and leave immediately is so great
Followed by Holly joining to give context

also him IMMEDIATELY understanding why Luke wears black in episode 6

Scorpy comparing the Emperor to ”the guy who shittalks me on xbox live” is such an odd yet perfect comparison

Beautiful how this analogy has absolutely been made before

Look on the bright side, Luke. You'll never be hurt by yo mama jokes

I thought he was just misremembering Jarvis from iron man 😂

It's even funnier realizing why he knows about Jizz... it's GOTTA be because the AVGN mentioned it in one of his videos about Star Wars games, 100%
Hell I’m a Star Wars nut but I didn’t know about Jizz
Extremely common misconception, Vader says "No, I *am* your father."

This would unironically happen is the thing. Scorpy is a visionary.
i love how accurately scorpy describes the phantom menace by pure coincidence

I’ll be surprised if that necessary and genius addition wasn’t straight from the mind of Chuck Wendig.
I can’t believe it finally happened and I MISSED IT 🙀
Gonna miss the Bionicle stream at this rate too
scorpy traded all his star wars knowledge for elden ring knowledge
if anything this stream actually proved that scorpy knew more about star wars than we thought
This video is my only source of star wars knowledge
You are not missing anything.
Well you now know about Droopy Mccool so I’d say you’re pretty set
I love how Scorpy is a way better Star Wars writer and comes up with way better movies than George Lucas could ever write
I’m so sad they cut out Baaulp reacting to someone in chat saying this thing 27:45 is the Lament Configuration.
i wish i knew this much about star wars
THEY FINALLY DID IT
IVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THEY NEVER DID THE STAR WARS STREAM AND WAS SO SAD (got into wrtvs through hlvrai) BUT NOW I SEE THIS!!! thank you for the edit so so so much :)
Scorpy would rather kill spiders than read Star Wars
Luke really do got the banana republic fit
I knew I was in for a good time after starting with that C3PO/R2D2 twist

The exceptional thing is Scorpy's ability to twist a lack of knowledge into an opportunity for comedy which is pretty great.
Scorpy has been on the internet for several years
isn't he Canadian?? Lol we had star wars in canada too

I haven't seen the Family Guy parody so I don't know if it also has that joke, but Scorpy was referencing Thumb Wars.
