This is super helpful, Jeromy - for me, more clearly laid out than Figure 53's videos. So could I ask a question about how are you take a show on the road. Let's say I'm practicing at home and all of my video surfaces are set to the laptop's screen. Before I go into the theater, I could create a new surface called "Projector" and give it a presumed resolution of 1920 x 1080. Is the best practice though to just wait until you get to the theater, and then once you plugged in their projector, save it as a surface to make sure the resolution is correct. Then change all the surfaces in Cue Templates > Video. Is that the flow you'd recommend? Thanks so much.

Glad it was useful! I typically go ahead and set up the display or displays as surfaces with the default resolution and then you can view them within the Audition Window. I typically have this open on a secondary display so I can work in QLab on my laptop monitor and preview on the other display. When you get to the space, you can then swap the display attached to the surface to the one that is available there. Just make sure you've used the correct resolution and it's a piece of cake!

Hi, I would like to play non stop videos with a fade in and fade out. The fade in and fade out work but the start cue at the bottom of the group does not. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance.

There could be a few different things going on there. Do you mean one video that fades in, plays, fades out, and then starts again from the beginning? If so, try this: (cue 1) video cue set to 0% opacity with an auto continue into (cue 2) fade cue that brings the opacity of cue 1 to 100%. Also set continue status to auto-continue. (Cue 3) fade cue targeting cue 1 that sets opacity to 0%. Set a pre-wait on this cue for as long as needed to time the fade out, but make sure to check stop target when done and set it to auto follow. (Cue 4) insert a start cue that targets cue 1, but set a .001 pre-wait (just to be safe bc sometimes cues firing simultaneously can create conflicts). There are other ways to go about doing this, but this is one of the simpler ways.

My display isn’t being recognized. I’m using a BMD micro converter to send a video signal to a projector

That’s odd. If a display is connected to your system and visible in system settings on the Mac, it should be available as a QLab video output. I would confirm that your adapter is properly working

@@jfhopgood I figured it out. It was the next tab over (output) that didn’t have the display connected.
