    Some really great nuggets in this video. You’re very good at cutting through the fat and getting to the key points.
    My biggest take away from this is that it is comprehensive without coming off too technical. I appreciated the b-roll examples to ensure that some of us who may not understand get a visual follow up.

    I recommend to film, and take notes of problems or things you want to show in the review when it happens or shortly after, and film footage when you can when it suits you, over time.
    then use the best footage you got. I haven't done a review in video form yet. so far I've only done written reviews, used video, pictures to make my point.
    but I am not fluent in English yet, but I'm practising. I don't have many talking videos, but I am sure I will have more.

    when using phone to film without a gimbal, use careful walking, use your knees as suspension or a stabilizer if you like, same with hands, hold phone securely, with two hands, walk carefully, move arms, hands to get the shot, you don't always need a slider, a stabilizer, gimbal, a film crew.

    an issue I have is trying to review something in a language that is not my native language which i don't usually speak in, and do several pages worth of text into a video. it's huge task, I don't even know how long it would take to make. So it's understandable why bike magazines don't do super in-depth videos of every single component they review, it would simply be too much work I think. of course it depends on the product, and how much you have to say. if it's an particularly bad product with many disadvantages and issues, showing all of that for example will make the review much longer, for example an bicycle with horrible component choice, this and that failed, this and that issue, but some stuff is easier to talk or show. but I know in some cases it's possible to do very short yet informative video, it depends.
    So for me it's too big of a task right now I think, but some people have suggested to make some reviews, comparisons.

      Haha no stress. I typically use something called a C-Stand with a boom arm and mount a small ball head on the end of that. The other thing you can do is get some kind of backdrop stand and use a friction arm with a clamp.

    Im always the kind of guy that is photo first.. was never been intrigue with videos to begin with.. but was considering venture to video making but never had the motivation to do so. what are the tips for a photographer to take on videography for the first time? like what are the quirks or "new things" for us? would love to know your opinion. :)

    • @dunnadidit
      @dunnadidit 3 роки тому +1

      Hey! The biggest thing to start with is being locked down to a single shutter speed. Generally, people suggest sticking with a 180° shutter rule so your shutter will be twice your frame rate. (24fps = 1/48 or 1/50 stutter) that means you’re left to adjust your exposure with only two things instead of 3. ND filters will become your best friend lol

    Product reviews sre harder than i thought. When i start editing i will remember that I did not get enough b roll. And then i go get some broll and then i see that my audio is clipped and i said more stupidity in one video than i have said in my entire life😂. Editing it all out is a hell of a job. But. Awesome video as always. I did it

    • @dunnadidit
      @dunnadidit 3 роки тому +1

      Haha yeah, making videos in general can be a headache like that. But the more you do it... the less you run into those little snags. One little trick I didn’t mention in the video is that sometimes I film my whole talking part, edit it, and then make a b-roll shot list based on what made it into the edit. I can get ONLY exactly the shots I need that way. No wasted time on extra shots and never too few either.

    btw some people touch on the "repetitiveness" of creating videos, you start of sucking at it! but as time goes on & the more you do it, the easier it becomes talking to the camera, my issue is though, I HATE the sound of my own voice & am sure everyone else will get put off by it too hahaha thats the only thing that has stopped me.

    • @dunnadidit
      @dunnadidit 3 роки тому +1

      I hear this 100%. I feel like I am just repeating myself a lot of the time. But to the audience who might only watch each video once, spread out as I release them, It probably doesn’t feel like that. That self perception is a bugger

      Something that you know a decent amount about and that you use regularly. So for example I started with my Bluetooth headphones that I owned. Then later I reviewed my camera lens that I used all the time. I never really kept going with the headphone reviews but it was great practice.
