This was the most profound "minute and ten seconds" of Niao Niao and Zisheng seeing each other after 5 years. So beautiful! Yuan knew it was over before he could get started.
Wu lei has the most expressive face 😢 he delivered the emotions of regret, pain and love perfectly in this scene.
True love never dies. I can't admire anyone else but Zhoa Lusi for epic historical dramas. She's also great in her romantic comedies but historical and fantasy dramas are her specialty. Having Leo Wu as her male lead is a perfect fit. He delivers that additional punch to the story. All the cast did an outstanding job. I hope it won so many awards because it is simply the best.
The way they both stare at each other..the emotion they portray while seeing each other after 5 years😭I can't 😭
This is by far the best Chinese historical period and costume drama that ever rolled out of its country of origin to date, hands down. Not only have the leads and the supporting actors outdid themselves with their stellar performances, they showcased their versatile talents and skills seeping into every level of emotion needed to portray different scenes at different times. The locations and music were fitting with excellent choices in costume and make up. The sypnosis for the drama is another level.....believable, with a seriously harsh and violent battle scenes that balanced off a heart warming and loving storyline to this drama.
Every other aspect that makes an excellent drama, I may have missed out but if you're thinking of spending time on this drama...I tell you, it's well worth your time.

Totally agree. It’s like all the actors were in symbiosis and each talent drew on the other. From minor characters to lead actors. Director must be amazing

this drama got me started watching Chinese dramas, something I would never have considered before, and now I'm in love. maybe because this one was the first ever I watched that I love it so much and will measure other dramas to this standard forever. the only one that I like as much as this is Love Between Fairy and Devil. Who Rules the World was also great, just the ending felt rushed

@@bltan2393 I'm still trying to get past the 1st 2-3 episodes of Nirvana In Fire to be able to see why people list that one. I start it, and stop; start and stop over and over again.
You can see the fear on Shanjian's face, he knew this was a wrap. I loved how Huo Buyi didn't respond to Shanjian's comment.
I also love the look on Fei's face too.

Love the details in every scene. The difference between LBY's face in the past memory (clean face) and the 5 years after with a stubble mustache and beard, and tired face (slightly tanned as well), completes the story description.
When a woman ignores the person she loves, she is actually hurting her own feelings the most..
this was the "BEST" cdrama for me!!!
the lead star, the story, the emotion all about this drama is superb...highly recomended!!
Yuan's eyes never left the General's face: he never once glanced at his fiancé even when she was on horseback and facing him before galloping off. If you have to brand your name on a woman so another man won't win her away from you, you've already lost her. That she and the General have history together and have been separated for 5 years but the General is the one with tears in his eyes and she's stoic, composed, determined, steadfast and confident told Yuan that she may be his fiancé, but her heart wasn't wholly his yet and might never be. That's when he felt the need to put the General in his place disallowing him to have anything more to do with her which was ludicrous considering the General's very position requires him to protect her even more now simply *because* she is to wed Yuan. Just watching his eyes tearing up and fighting to keep his voice steady when he spoke to her, Yuan suspected his future marriage was already in jeopardy and he felt threatened simply by the General's return to the palace. Whether or not she and the General ever reconciled, she truly was no longer the girl he left 5 years ago and she would never marry one man knowing she couldn't give herself completely to him; she was mature, intelligent, and no longer a selfish brat and she would never betray anyone by allowing them to believe she loved them completely when she knew she couldn't and never would. That she might never forgive the General was possible, but knowing her heart still held him when her arms didn't want to out of his betrayal and abandonment of her, she was mature enough to know it would be unfair of her to marry another and deceive him into thinking she was his forever.
Even 5years but they heart still strong to each other ..strong love between them.wulu great chemistry and best couple ..💯❤💯❤

Really? I never saw that. All I saw was him constantly belittling and trying to manipulate her. He was asked his opinion on her a few times and his response was always something to the tune of “she’s too stupid/vulgar”. Only when she started to fall for ling buyi did he change his tune.
@@lisal8568 exactly....it started out with him trying to redeem himself after she rejected him in front of all those noblemen when he threw her the embroidery ball. He started stalking her every moment after that...the fact that he belittled her at every turn made it impossible for her to see him as anything more...in her eyes he was just like her mother. It felt like it was all just a game to him. He knew that he would never compare to Buyi in her heart...she even told him as much. He was fighting a losing battle.
He loved the idea of Shaoshang but never really accepted her for who she was.

And it was a subtle rebuke by Zisheng to Yuan, too, because Yuan didn't stop to readjust his "fiancee's" stirrup before she rode.
Zisheng models correct behavior, gets to touch the beloved one, and rebukes the man who dares think he will come between them all in one act. No wonder he's a general!!

This scene is so heartbreaking.... both shaoshang and zisheng still love each other...even zisheng told ah Fei that he will not married the whole his live ,his swear to his ancestor because the only woman he loves is shaoshang...no woman can replace her ... zisheng just stay quiet when yuan shanjian told him to not looking for shaoshang anymore because he is shaoshang fiancee...the fact is yuan worried if shaoshang left him and back to zisheng...
