Lord JC, pleased you updated this session, I have been repeating for years with other ab sessions you have done over the years, they are my daily staple, big thanks
"People are saying, right now they are saying: If this is this hard for Jeff, how am I gonna do it? Guys, just do as much as you can." Yes, it really got time for an updated version.
I have a love/hate relationship with core workouts and like anything that minimizes the amount of time I spend on abs. I doubt I'll be able to get through the whole circuit, but I'm going to give it a shot! Thanks for your amazing workouts!
I finally got this done without an extra rest!! Been doing it (among other HIIT ab stuff) for a couple weeks and the differences are already huge. Thanks Jeff!!!
Question...in the other 7 minute video follow along, I often have trouble with my hip flexors and low back giving out before my abs do. I know that you say “use the abs, not the hip flexors” and that helps, but is there something else to do for those and what about strengthening low back imbalances so that my abs are getting the full benefit? Workouts are at home with limited equipment. Thanks for this updated video! Big fan of the other one.
I think this type of exercises have the drawback of activating hip flexors too much, especially if you are a beginner and even more when you have to do it for 60 sec. It’s a long time and inevitably the hip flexors will give in. I tend to replace them with other versions. Jeff has plenty of versions to choose from. Try them out.
I'd suggest replacing the exercises with something else you can do without hurting your back. For me, reverse crunches are good or if there is something like scissor kicks, I tend to put my legs up more straight almost perpendicular to the floor, instead of having them angled or lower to the floor. When I started doing ab workouts two months ago, I couldn't do stuff like leg raises and stuff cuz my lower back would hurt so badly. So I had to replace them. Now my core is stronger and I know how to focus more on my abs instead of using my hip flexors or back to hold me up. Now I can finally do leg raises without lower back pain.
Try breathing out and pull your abs in (as if you're sucking in your gut) on every contracting motion. It won't completely cut out your hip flexors, but it helps make the body more aware of the contraction in the abs and should pull some of the effort away from the hip flexors until this becomes a more habitual response. And everything everybody else said, too!
I gotta be honest, i followed along as best i could but had to take additional breaks especially during the mountain climbers. I managed to chug through the end though! Loved it, dont be discouraged guys! Practice makes perfect!

Jeff, I’m in my forties starting to workout again and have found all your workouts well worth the burn! Thanks so much for explaining the science behind the workouts! Cheers
The scissor v ups require mad coordination. Overall, I felt a bit less out of breath with this one, the activation a bit less on the lower abs. It's gonna be great alternating between this, the 7min and the 10min. You the man, Jeff.
First off, I’ve been waiting for a new intense ab workout for a while now so thanks Jeff & Team! Secondly, during the midst of COVID I came across Jeff’s 22-Day six pack guarantee workout so l decided to give it a try. Not only did I see amazing results, I started to work out at home every single day following along Jeff’s free videos here on UA-cam. So just wanna say thanks to you Jeff for changing my life in a big way! S J C
Yeeessss, was just thinking yesterday that I wished there was a new follow along. I have all of Jeff’s workouts in a playlist and cycle through them during the week.
My second day doing this exercise and I already felt improvement. Now I haven’t been to the gym or worked out much in the last two years. It’s exciting to feel improvement. I am going to keep my mind on that. Do a little each day to make tomorrow better. This took 6 minutes out of my day and I didn’t even come close to keeping up pace with Jeff. I took many extra breaks. My abs feel the burn and I look forward to doing this a little bit better tomorrow.
Been doing this workout for the past 8 days or so and I already have baby abs poking out above my last bit of belly fat. My lower back is the worst (had a herniated disc at age 19, 28 now I’ll be 29 in 10 days. And it hasn’t been the same ever since) so I’ve been subbing the scissors v ups for an extra set of the cross knee planks!
Am I the only one missing the “beginner”, “intermediate” and “advanced” stages of the previous follow along video?! 😅 I worked in my own tiny 5 second breaks 🙈also I liked the brief explanation part of each exercise in the previous video. That really helped to get the technique right… thank you for this video and inspiration though. Let’s see maybe one day I can follow along without my micro breaks 😅
This trains my abs alot more than some of Chris Herias lying abb workouts, however Chris Herias help to strengthen my hip flexors and provide general stability for running.
Hey Jeff, I’ve been eating at about a maintenance/minor surplus level for about 9 months to focus on gaining strength, it’s gone great. The last month or so, I’ve tried to start a cut as I have a holiday coming up but feel tired more often and noticeably weaker in the gym. Any tips for cutting weight and not losing strength and feeling crappy?
@@Matthew-eq3xi Salmon is not lean protein it has a lot of fat, second walnuts and avocados are the worst foods to eat on a cut because its high in calories and low in volume it doesn't fill you up.
First, don't lower your calories drastically. Be in a deficit of 300 to 500 calories at most (a 500 calorie deficit per day means you'll lose around 1lb/0.5kg per week). Make sure to get your protein in, there's some research that suggests you should eat even more protein than you normally do to maintain muscle mass. Also do some cardio, around 30 minutes a day will burn 200-300 calories, and that way you won't have to cut so much on food. Get your carbs in. If you cut them out, you'll feel drained because they're the primary source of energy that our body uses. If you're carb depleted you'll feel and look smaller too, because carbs are converted into glucose, which is turned into glycogen, stored into the muscle, making them look bigger and fuller. You could also reduce your workouts volume by a bit, maybe cut out a few sets, or don't train to complete failure as often as you normally would because that's very fatiguing and hard to recover from. You could try using a pre-workout or just drinking coffee if your blood pressure levels are normal and you're healthy, as caffeine has been shown to boost metabolism by a bit, helping you burn more calories (not drastically but it still helps a bit). I hope this helped, have a good day/night!
Two avenues of approach I like to take. Either: 1. Eat in a 200-300cal deficit for longer periods. 2. Eat in an aggressive deficit (600-800cal below maintenance) for two weeks, then eat at maintenance for two weeks. Rinse-repeat. Regardless, train the same way you have been. Losing strength in certain lifts on a cut is inevitable, but continue maintaining (or in some cases progressing) your strength as best you can.
@@Matthew-eq3xi great advice. The only thing I am not a fan is oatmeal and pineapple. I am not saying doing strict keto, but for me reducing carbs and being diligent with fruits has worked well. I also eat three eggs everyday (good quality eggs)
I wanna stress this that you won’t see abs just by doing these exercises, first get your body fat percentage down below 10 to make them abs visible than workout to build abs
It took 7 months of sweat , working out , working outside in the Florida heat and.... GIVING UP ICE CREAM, CAKES, PIES, CANDY ETC.,ETC.,ETC. And now after years of not seeing my 6 pack ,it's back ,along with 25 lbs gone and no more ... love handles. 62 years old 5'10 180. You're 100 percent CORRECT.
I used to hate doing ab workouts. Well, I still don't enjoy doing them however... the more I train my abs (which I make myself do in every training session now), the easier it gets. Now I can actually see my abs! It's so satisfying. I implement exercises I learned from the 6 Pack Promise app but there's no way, I do them for 60 seconds lol but still...I see the results and I'm happy 😊
Another great follow-along! How about an update on ‘You in 15 minutes’? That is one of my absolute favourites go-to components of a hiit session. Keep up the good work, Jeff!

So just wanna say thanks to you Jeff for changing my life in a big way!
S J C
I did the same for his 22 day push up 👊
Thank you Jeff! These guided workouts have done wonders for me and my brother.
Awesome video! Really works the Abs good and targets all the areas!
Yeeessss, was just thinking yesterday that I wished there was a new follow along. I have all of Jeff’s workouts in a playlist and cycle through them during the week.
Man, entered this video thinking it was easy, finished it in a wheelchair ☠️
Man did something else...
@@axeltm4349 hahaha no!
I started doing this new abs workout and holy moly, it does not get any easier but that is what counts
Just about to do a six pack shuffle… Thank you, Jeff!!
This video was released 23 hours ago and I'm already trying it. My wife wishes I listened to her as much as I listen to Jeff .
I wasn’t even doing them and that felt like the longest 6 minutes ever
My second day doing this exercise and I already felt improvement. Now I haven’t been to the gym or worked out much in the last two years. It’s exciting to feel improvement. I am going to keep my mind on that. Do a little each day to make tomorrow better. This took 6 minutes out of my day and I didn’t even come close to keeping up pace with Jeff. I took many extra breaks. My abs feel the burn and I look forward to doing this a little bit better tomorrow.
Train abs everyday, but don't just do the same workout
Get his app: 6 pack promise
I’ve been watching the 7 minute one daily and I’ve just been getting used to it. Perfect timing
I've been doing those vids for the past three years and I went to do it this afternoon, I finally have a new one!
Hey bro you give us a very deep meaning advices for muscle building keep going brother 😊 lots of love from India
Yesss the follow alongs. I know you’re too busy for the other workout follow alongs, but I think some push/pull follow alongs would be nice!
The last ten seconds felt like 10 years . It's a good challenge even to those who regularly do it.
You already strengthen hip flexors in lower abs exercise
Either:
HMB and karbolyn
You are like new technology, improving everyday.
Wait, do you do this every day?
Yes but i do it only weekdays and mix it in with another workout like arm day or leg day . It will help your other lifts tremendously.
You're killing me Jeff. In a good way. Keep these workouts coming!
I did this three times in a row. I will not be trying that again
A year later and I’m still using this. You have all the credit to my abs coming in with some Russian twists. Thank you sir.

We're still able to see them at some light with a 15-18% but they don't look that good, of course.
Below 10 is pretty extreme though. You don’t need to go that low.
Man they post these videos at the perfect time, was just needing an update to that exact workout. Thanks!
Scissors v up is killing me
Waiting for my bday to get your workouts as a present 🎁 just following along now and trying to be consistent
I’m not first
Because i was
I used to hate doing ab workouts.
If he's not tryna kill me with burpees, he's tryna kill me with ab workouts. Glad I found your channel in 2016 tho👏🏼
Been doing this and the 7 min ab workout for about 6 months and I'm chiseled!
Jeff looking at you really helps motivate me! I get so turned on that I don't even feel the burn and complete the workout.
.......
@@babyblue1443 I'm a man if that makes it any better
Man i remember the AB workout videos 6-7 min where a blast, super happy about this!
Jeff I’ve been doing your 7 minute ab workout for 6 months and really enjoy it! Now V-up-scissors???? You are putting me up to a challenge😮💨
Your the man Jeff love these videos I normally do to of your follow alongs normally like 13 -14 minutes of effort
YES please, more follow-along workouts! Thank you!
Babe, wake up - Jeff dropped a new ab workout
Another great follow-along! How about an update on ‘You in 15 minutes’? That is one of my absolute favourites go-to components of a hiit session. Keep up the good work, Jeff!
Thank you so much you are going to make my life right I wish I had you as my personal trainer oh my
