Hello, I just love your recipes, I want to make this Christmas bread pudding and I want to know if the mixed essence can be bought or ordered at a specific place or can it be put together with ingredients. Thank you in advance for sharing your recipes.
Chris, I think something was lost in editing at the 3:07 mark, and I want to get this right when I make it because it sure looks and sounds fantastic. Thanks for sharing this with us.
+Micheline Hodge Grape juice - white, purple or red should work as well. That's what I will use when I try this recipe. My mum uses it in her fruit cakes and I don't miss the rum, but then I again I don't drink...LOL
Hello Chris. Would like to try this for Christmas but we don't have French bread here. How much (by weight) is the loaf of bread that you are using, please?
Can anyone who has the type of bread that the chef used, please tell me the weight of the amount of bread that he used please? We do not have french bread here and i would like to know the equivalent weight of bread that he used. With thanks!
first attempt, not enough cinnamon, but beautiful. second attempt added coconut. 3rd attempt added pineapple rum. 4th attempt added cinnamon rum - what next??. I'm not taking anything out, just adding!!!!!
+Rasta Mon a water bath adds moisture to the oven and this is important for baking foods like cheesecakes, which tend to crack from the heat of the oven, or custards which can become rubbery without moist heat.
I would say soak the dried fruit in cognac or brandy or dark rum (those aged dark rums are really special) I would not say sherry or port. I could be wrong, but I think they would taste weird.
Aye.....Chris.....I really love you and your recipes. You're my go to guy for everything!!!
Lovely Caribbean food from the great chef

What is the benefit of the hot water bath? I’ve made Bread Pudding before but, without the hot water bath.
Hello . I was just thinking if I can do this without an oven? Like use a steam cooker if possible?
Love this recipe! Can I use less eggs?
Do you have a recipe for smoke meat and red bean stew???
Hey Chris,What would you suggest if alcohol cannot be used to soak the fruits?Any substitutions?
+Micheline Hodge orange juice

Hello Chris. Would like to try this for Christmas but we don't have French bread here. How much (by weight) is the loaf of bread that you are using, please?

Why do you need to bake it in water?
+Rasta Mon a water bath adds moisture to the oven and this is important for baking foods like cheesecakes, which tend to crack from the heat of the oven, or custards which can become rubbery without moist heat.
Makes sense, thanks! Bless up my fellow Ontarian!
it also prevents the custard mixture from cuddling at the bottom of the pan..
Rasta Mon bls
The missing word is NUTS
