Have only gotten into Joe Rogan podcasts lately and I have to say, it's so refreshing. It's like watching one of those open ended chats that you end up having with someone you just met on a night out.
'He's a wierdo No actually he's an intelligent conversationalist, unfortunately there is some people commenting on here who have nothing between their ears, give the guy credit. He's been to a dark place and rebuilt himself. Have some respect.

I have to say not only are his movies holiday season classics, this man turned out to be a dope human being. Sounds like a chill, laid back, down to earth man.
I don’t get why mostly everyone is hating on this dude in the comments. He gave us Home Alone people (Which is a classic). Stop hating on the boy & enjoy the podcast.
I have to say McAuley Culkin said a lot of really funny things in this interview that Joe completely missed… It’s like Joe’s always concerned with what he saying lately rather than listening to what the guests are saying
Sharkfan exactly! I am so tired of his condescending crap and his pretentious “I find that so fascinating” monotone disposition. Is constantly gaslighting his guests to make them have to explain things that are absolutely meaningless… For example even in this interview McAuley said something along the lines of “everybody has an article...” and Joe has to make a point of saying “everybody?” Where he then has to explain himself afterwards... even the way he says “sure” when somebody is talking is so utterly pretentious
He's intelligent and goofy like my 50 year old neighbor. Cool to see him laugh and smile because you know he's been through the mill. He was dealing with the Weinsteins and Epsteins before people really knew they were creeps.
People knew they were creeps, they just covered for them. I remember in the 80s reading Jackie Collin’s books. She blatantly told everyone what Hollywood was like. We (I included) accepted that as normal for Hollywood. Which is so wrong, there should have been a move to stop it! Instead it was normalized. Now if you look at what these monsters did to the actors and actresses of the golden age it’s horrendous, heartbreaking and disgusting. I’m appalled by how accepting we were.
This dude is the absolute best child actor of all time from home alone to richie rich and my all time favorite movie of him the good son. He was such a evil bastard in good son and I hated him, but that just speaks to how incredibly talented he is. I grew up on his movies and i will forever be a fan of him.
Yeah that's something I picked up on too, like when the John lovitz club name joke come up, joe just dismissed it saying that the club was called something else before he bought it. Makes me believe that Joe really tought Mac tought it was a coincidence and not joking.
@@missireason8998 yeah the way he vibes with someone dictates how he finds something funny....hence why being high isn't the best state to pick up on quick jokes. Culkins just kinda of a dorky high energy guy, the one Joe would stuff in a locker lol

Macualy made Joe work in this. Joe was probably not ready for this high energy intense conversation where his guest outmatched him. Home alone kid is not just very knowledgeable but lightning quick.
@Voqzzy are you high? I watched Joe Rogan go from a mediocre acting career in the 90s to slightly amusing stand up to baffling meteoric rise as a podcaster. My grandmother knows more about him than you're oddly assuming I do. I know he's an idiot, and an addict. Decades of watching him and listening are my basis. Put down the dope and clear your head.
This was great. He seems to be extremely secure with himself, matured, funny and smart. Always good to see a success story from a child who had INSANE fame.
I just watched HOME ALONE. I checked my phone during a commercial and this was on my feed! Lol that’s OK though I’m glad I found it it’s a great interview. When my son was little we watched HOME ALONE every season on VHS.
Yaaas. If a dude says he wants a coloncosopy and a scope with the same camera so he can experience ass to mouth, I automatically think how intelligent he is.
Honestly I'm not really a fan of Joe as a comedian, but I appreciate his ability to almost completely drop that persona and just be a normal, serious dude during his podcast. It's like two completely different people, and maybe outside of some potential good/funny chemistry, it usually makes for a better, more thought provoking discussion.

Elon Musk will just hype and promote his brand Alex Jones stays relevant by being random and crazy Ric Flair already has a really good document about him
Macaulay is so underrated as an adult actor. He was fantastic in Party Monster and also in Saved. I wish he’d do more movies in general. But even after Home Alone, he did a movie called The Good Son and was amazing in it.. and he was only 10 or 11! He’s one of my favorite actors. I love how versatile he is. I hope he comes back on Rogan.
I loved the good son. Ans for his age he played A total psycho so well. And clearly he wasn’t like that, but he really allowed you to suspend disbelief in that film.
I got the sense that early on the podcast Joe was thinking they were going to do a real deep dive on how Hollywood fucked Mac up as a kid, and how fucked up he must be now because of it. But since Mac's attitude is: "All things considered, I came out pretty alright through it (his mentioning that there are kids all over the world who live through WAY shittier situations than his was a perspective you seldom hear from former child stars), and now I have a shitload to do whatever I want," Joe realized, whoa, we're not going to get the conversation like that.
I feel like it’s not that he’s not clicking with him, he’s just a different energy. “You are who you hang around with” If joe had someone who’s all jumpy and everyone just had some onnit, he’d definitely be different but he’s just a different energy. He’s definitely more mellow.
I wish Joe would have asked Macaulay about his memories of working with my personal hero - the great, late John Candy in Uncle Buck. Such a missed opportunity there... That being said, what a cool bloke Macaulay Culkin is, but unusually compared to a lot of people here and elsewhere, I've never thought he would be anything other than down-to-earth, charming, cultured and charismatic. In this interview (or rather) just a chill out, he exemplifies all the above. Chris (UK).
Christopher Tudor have you heard or watched Schitts creek? It has the phenomenal Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy, I absolutely think if John were alive he would have been on that show. It just has a bit of his essence, try to catch it if you can. Catherine and Eugene were dear friends to John and being Canadian it is very sentimental
Christopher Tudor you’ll love schitts creek!!! Trust me! I would also check out the Christopher Guest movies with Catherine and Eugene, they are a mock documentary but so awesome, my fave is “Best in show”
All of this you have said about John is true and then some. I grew up in Toronto in the late 70’s early 80’s and would frequent Second City comedy club... kind of akin to SNL. I met John a couple times and he was larger than life and just the nicest person I have ever met just one of the boys and would be more than happy to talk about you and what you were interested in. Rest In Peace, John.
When Macauley went to the bathroom, Jamie should have booby trapped the studio door with a paint can on a string. I know he'd get the swing perfect, because of his PhD in physics.
Even in his 40's now as I'm commenting, Macaulay Culkin, he still has that youthful appearance, youthful cander, presence and energy, he still has thst charisma even now, as he did when he was a youngster
Once these two found their rhythm (about halfway through), this got really good. I had no idea Mac knew so much about fighting! He seems to know quite a bit in general, which is great. Super cool guy.
I get the vibe that the Mac near 40, at some point became very hyper-aware of the culture he grew up in as a child actor, and just found like 80 per cent of it kind of hilarious / ridiculous. The bits he's done on Red Letter Media show he's very fond of the film and pop culture he grew up in, yet very astute about what is rife for laughing at about it.

But we got to hear about his poop
I know this was 4 years ago but I must say one of the best JRE podcasts I’ve seen! What a great conversation! I really really like Macaulay Culkin!!👏🏻👏🏻
Word. This is the time I needed to hear it, not five years ago when my life was falling apart. I’m able to appreciate it much more now to see that we both grew together. This was a great episode.
I hate when a guest says a funny joke and Joe takes it so seriously. "I was hoping they would go ass to mouth with the cameras" and Joe just says "Why" with no expression.
David Pope because it wasn’t funny.
That was an awkward joke, but he kind of meant "I wish I'd ended up the situation where they'd tried to do that" and it came out a bit... wrong. Ironically it turned into the kind of awkward situation MC was daydreaming of
My point is that this isn't the first time that someone said something that is obviously a joke and Joe takes it seriously.
Yeah Joe hates when people try to be cheeky.
Yeah it's always kinda awkward, even around professional comedians he misses it too.
I'm watching this home alone.

Have only gotten into Joe Rogan podcasts lately and I have to say, it's so refreshing. It's like watching one of those open ended chats that you end up having with someone you just met on a night out.
'He's a wierdo
No actually he's an intelligent conversationalist, unfortunately there is some people commenting on here who have nothing between their ears, give the guy credit. He's been to a dark place and rebuilt himself. Have some respect.

I have to say McAuley Culkin said a lot of really funny things in this interview that Joe completely missed… It’s like Joe’s always concerned with what he saying lately rather than listening to what the guests are saying
too busy trying to be right
Sharkfan exactly! I am so tired of his condescending crap and his pretentious “I find that so fascinating” monotone disposition. Is constantly gaslighting his guests to make them have to explain things that are absolutely meaningless… For example even in this interview McAuley said something along the lines of “everybody has an article...” and Joe has to make a point of saying “everybody?” Where he then has to explain himself afterwards... even the way he says “sure” when somebody is talking is so utterly pretentious
correct
I felt this way too :(
That’s pretty much every JRE

Christopher Tudor seriously he’s still the best, I still remember being 10 or 11 and absolutely gobsmacked hearing of his passing. Such a legend
Trust me! I would also check out the Christopher Guest movies with Catherine and Eugene, they are a mock documentary but so awesome, my fave is “Best in show”
Christopher Tudor it’s my fave show of all time, it just ended and I weeped like a school girl

Doug Markwith and I’m glad they found their rhythm. Joe was getting on my nerves he was being so standoffish
