Woah! Leo Warcrime Whitefang and Nago dodging the biggest bullet i have seen in this games life span. I know certain characters are rare but i see wolfs hiding among the sheep in that tier list.
Really liked the vid, and the idea to change some mechanics sounds on point to Maybe something like nerfing defensive meter/burst gain overall + buffing defensive options could help the way matches play without exploiting crazy meter options and then start with character changes, that to be fair, all of them have strong options, just some are bs crazy compared to the rest
Holy shit scottish fg youtuber?? Subbed. Excellent gimmick i was gonna do that 😂 Agree with the wild assault discussion also, I've been saying for ages that this games meter economy is shocking. Dudes are just drift rcing all day 😭
I like ggs meter used, it's insane but balanced, everyone benefits from it. wild assault on the other hand... they should make a zoner wild assault that throws the enemy full screen and hard knockdowns or something, only way for other playstyles to compete with unga bunga rushdown
I like season 4 but, as a Dizzy player, the pot matchup feels like the worst matchup in the game. Without any arial projectiles/special moves, she has no way to threaten anything from nuetral. Slide head, hammer fall, mega fist, and heat tackle beat every special move in her kit. And that's not even mentioning Flick... This isn't even a joke. Heat tackle hits standing players, and all her special moves have her standing still for 60-80 frames. So Pot can YOLO a commital anti-air from mid screen, and it'll counter hit Dizzy if she was making a fish or pressing any special move. If I had it my way, Ice spike would freeze through Pot's armored moves. That way, there would be at least some RPS to nuetral. His armored moves could still beat everything else in her kit, but Pot would have more incentive to use FDB/Megafist, which aren't nearly as oppresive as slide head or hammer fall. Either that, or give her an arial version of chestnut/fish, so she can zone or settup an approach without losing to mega fist, slide head, and hammer fall. However, as it is, every single one of her specials loses RPS against 4-5 moves from pot. It's crazy. My only complaint with season 4 is to give better interactions with that one matchup. I otherwise enjoy how strong pot has gotten.
This is all to say, any character complaining about pot, who isn't Asuka or Dizzy, is full of BS. Ain't no one got it half as bad as Dizzy, who loses her entire identity in nuetral and has to rush down the highest health/damage character in the game with nothing but her normals and a dream. Like, outside of Asuka, who even gets his normals flicked back at him, Dizzy is the only character allowed to complain about the new Pot, imo.
@@uniquename6925new pot is just obnoxious regardless of character while Dizzy may have it especially bad Pot is just kind of a toxic character right now. But I’d be kinda surprised if they don’t hit him with a few changes after not reverting the changes from season 4 + emergency patch.
I know there are a lot of issues that still haven't been resolved (especially as a Millia player) but I still enjoy the game as much as I always have and I'll still love playing it no matter the direction that it goes 😊
I dont feel that the season is doomed, patch 4.00 had unplayable things but it aint bad rn. Only thing i can say is i cant play pot, ppl either dont wanna play with me or something like that. (We all know he is overtuned, but idk man he is not 4.00 ram)
low tier nerfs are kinda whyyy ? but its not that bad. disjoints, uninteruptable +30, meter gain on using other ressources are tho. I love playing this game, it is well done to be fun for the player, but playing AGAINST the player feel so bad in this game. (ive always love fighting pots, unfortunatly KBMF KPB HF FDB)
I don't think WA is a problem after the nerfs to passive bar gain and half positive bonus. You use half of your bar for a extension that could, could not, work. If we had the previous bar gain and full duration OG positive bonus yeah it would be a problem but right now it's looking very fine.
Instead of messing with WA, improve FD and Deflect. Deflect should COMPLETELY shut down offense even better than YRC. If the attacker raises the stakes with WA, give the defender a chance to do the same and then neither has burst.
Warning: Faust rant incoming. Please move on if you do not want to read a rant about Faust. I realized after I finished writing the rant how angry and deranged I sounded, so instead of deleting everything I put this warning here. Faust is in kind of a sad state. The nerfs to j2k (and also mini Faust) hurt him a lot more than the rest of his buffs helped him, They keep trying to make be able to use items for more things, but he is so reliant on items yet he has such a hard time getting them out, and relative to the effort it takes to get a CHANCE to throw a good item (or get trumpet and lose your turn. Seriously, imagine if Pot’s garuda had a 14% percent chance to guard crush HIM instead), while I think pretty much every other character doesn’t need to work nearly as hard, and yet a lot of them get even stronger results. J2k was his ONLY way to consistently get plus frames without using items or resources (his cS is minus on block and also 8 frame startup) and now you can only be AT MOST plus one off of it if you space it perfectly, because apparently being plus 4 was too much for Faust, but also let’s give ram an always plus on block dive kick that makes her impossible to anti-air. They are so careful with Faust, but with other characters (I am looking at you, Nago, Ram, Sin, Goldlewis and Johnny) they just have a blindfolded orangutan with a dartboard and some ballistic missiles on several hallucinogenic drugs making balance changes. Even Lordknight, probably the biggest Faust hater in existence, (seems like a cool guy otherwise, but if you need proof that he hates Faust other than the fact that he has said it multiple times, his initial reaction to the Faust section of the Season 4 balance trailer was, and I quote mostly directly: “This (N-word)’s ass! Let him be ass!”) has admitted that Faust is not in a good spot right now. That is how bad things have gotten. We are going back to the days of Season 1 Laust. (Joking about that last bit, but still, why nerf Faust? Why?)
Adressing whats actually said in the video, yeah OWA is a problem, but only on some characters really... The real issue is when you break the wall and get all of it back. Maybe a burst gain penalty would be a good idea.
lol yes!! i was saying that, ppl were complaining about kPB and i kept saying, it's kBMF that's the real winner from that patch! But i think you're pretty spot on with a lot of your views...
i think WA is the issue with the game. They said they wanted increase interactions in the fight, decreasing dmg etc...yet WA just allows ppl to stay on offense, and they get to do it twice!! Once WA is over, you've got a bar of tension to continue to stay on offense! I think WA should use the whole bar.
I think Strive right now is in a dilemma. On one hand, they wanted to get the new players and that's why they simplified Guilty Gear core mechanic. And now, since they got all of the sizable playerbase, they started to introduce old school mechanic in different form. The problem was that they didn't think this through. The old Guilty Gear got very good universal defensive mechanic to discourage overly aggressive playstyle. IB used to grant positive frame on block depending on attack level, better backdash and higher speed movement (including better air dash),Guard Cancel exist, Slashback and blitz exists. These are there to keep in check the game's craziness. Don't get me wrong, they had flaw and can be baited but if you circle around these option, there might be a chance to take your turn back during defense. Strive, however, nerfed several aspect of this by removing all of those defensive options and then they introduced Guard Crush.....WHY? Also, IB is only good for tension gain and nothing else. IB could be negated by Guard Crush because if you don't FD, say bye bye to your HP chip damage. Deflection Shield ain't cut it chef. It was so easily be baited and a cheap knockoff of Blitzshield and Slashback that you could just live w/o it. This left the new players couldn't handle the pressure that old guilty gear players had dealt with. We, old schools, knew this but we learned how to deal with it in our own way with the creative use of RC mechanic but that was only high level, new player couldn't do it on reaction. On the other hand, they tried to have old players back by introducing "crazy mechanics" or old characters got their main identity moveset back but ended up upsetting them as well due to how flawless the characters are (Slayer and A.B.A rework literally removed a lot of their major weakness in the old games.) Again, they nerfed all of Slayer and A.B.A defensive option in the old game but their offense got gazillion buffs to offset their "weakness". How is that balancing?

yeahhh definitely agree, using the whole bar would make it more costly and add more risk/reward to burst management
play a zoner and you'll see how there's no counterplay against pot...
I played season2 pot. I know unwinnable. that being said johnny is a good zoner v pot
they nerfed my girl Baiken again ;-;
Baiken is fine. she got mad buffed then took 10 damage of 6h. like she is powerful this patch
They literally removed asuka 😭
yeah...
the problem is that zato is still bottom tier and losing 6p and sun void is crippling
