Shannon Briggs has to be taken with a pinch of salt here; he took a terrible beating in the Vitali Klitschko in 2010, six years before this interview - he was essentially washed up at this point and avid Haye didn't have long left in the game either. Briggs would have been soundly beaten by AJ, Fury, and, very possibly David Haye too. Boxing needs fighters like Briggs, in much the same way that Snooker needs the Higgins, O'Sullivans, and Whites in its game, and tennis needs the McEnroes to really imbue the general sporting public as well as the hardcore fans.
