Honestly kinda happy this exists. Makes you realise that even professionals have their slips and off days and honestly they can't be 100% perfect all the time.
The difference between Brendon and other professionals is that he forces his voice on the high notes. There are better ways to sing high notes that don't damage your voice, which Brendon doesn't do. This voice crack was the result of years and years of forcing high notes, slowly building up damage
I mean, Fred has had colds and sounded just as bad, so I suppose it could be the cause. He also had (often-aggravated) nodules so that made his predicament worse.
@@MisterSandmanAU it's because for years hes sang very unhealthy and done things he knows hes not supposed to just to flex at concerts- like singing in higher keys on tours just to prove he can and absolutely frying his vocal cords. this isnt a cold, hes pretty much injured himself btw i didnt mean this specifically to you i j replied to your comment so my bad
it's not how long. it's how he continues to misuse his voice. age, genetics etc does definitely impact the voice but you can keep a healthy, fairly consistent sound for a very long time if you actually listen to your body and sing properly. brendon put a big focus on just sounding impressive and not on singing in a sustainable way. which is funny because if he bothered to do the latter then he'd be alot more impressive. it's laziness. tho it isn't pure laziness for everyone. other things do come into play like what i mentioned before but also many artists aren't given much of a choice especially if they're young and new. but brendon has been in the game very successfully for over a decade. if he wanted to take a break and work with a coach he easily could. he chooses to raise his songs and scream.
The ghost of Freddy Mercury strangling him

Is this the origin of the demon music videos!?
Gotta respect the recovery he made at the end though
What recovery
The “oOoOh” at the end, it sounds like a recovery from the voice crack to me at least

Brendon Urie channeling his inner Japan 1979
I love how even though he had the voice crack he still held it out and kept going like “ I guess this is the note now”
For anyone else looking for the source: KROQ's 2015 Almost Acoustic Christmas, uploaded by Brendon Urie Vines
thank you sooo much!!!

All these voice cracks of his are probably because he has been singing for like 20 years, he should probably stop 😅
