Such a great peace of mind, knowing that the car is fully protected. Just like you I’m very OCD about how clean and protected my M3 is. I also chose to have my entire car PPF’d when I first got it and it has saved me so many times from rocks, things just flying up in the middle of the road, wet paint, tar and track days. Well worth the money in the long run and it’s a no brainer for those who are looking to maintain their car for as long as possible.
Had my 2022 X6 corrected and completely covered in XPEL Ultimate, and ceramic coated the day after I drove it off the lot. Best 8k I've ever spent. One year later and the car is still flawless. Zero regrets.
I'm the same way when it comes to my cleaning regiment lol. Completely worth it when your car is brand new to have that peace of mind. For my car I have PPF on the front bumper, headlights, entire hood, mirrors, and b pillars. Also, it makes routine maintenance easier and you won't feel as bad doing a quick detail because you don't run the risk of scratching the paint
I would honestly like to keep this one for a while. I just like my stuff pristine as can be. If I ever sell it, the 2nd owner would basically have a newish car lol
Thanks for sharing. If had a brand new car I would do the same. The rock chips that I inherited when I bought my f80 bugs the hell out of me. If I ever decide to get them fixed, I’m definitely doing PPF.
One thing i would like to add about PPF is ASK what kind of install you are getting. .I can price my film installs for a basic kit install or full blown custom work. It’s truly up to what your budget allows which determines the end price of the install. Also Paint correction is not necessary nor included with any film installs. In most cases it actually makes film installs much more difficult as the film tends to want to pretack to the surface during alignment and finger management.
To be honest, i am very OCD but i think the full car PPF is a bit overkill. I have an f80 and did full front and roof + full paint correction for 3k. If anyone just wants rock chip protection they can go the full front method and save a couple of bucks. 👍🏼 Anyways they did a great job on your g80, looks great. Enjoy it!
I am exactly like you. OCD to the max. Hate scratches and chips. Enjoy always keeping her clean and in mint condition. Like you, I did a full car PPF (Xpel Ultimate Plus) with ceramic coating (inside and out, plus wheels and calipers). As a result, I am able to drive the car with much less anxiety....hence....total PPF= totally worth it..
Spot on with your comments however, I will add that if your car sits outside all the team (Not garage kept), PPF is probably not worth it because while it has UV protection, the sun will beat down the PPF making it a nightmare to remove or replace down the road.
Check out detailers domain. They are located in New jersey. Brandon who did my install here in Florida knows him from the industry. He does pretty good work. I've also watched his videos from way back and they know what they are doing.
Not an M3 but recently ceramic coated my Golf R and it was looking pristine. Ended up getting a rock chip last weekend on the hood and it’s been bothering the hell out of me. :( If I could swing a full PPF I’d go for it.
I feel your pain on that. You can always still get the front clip ppf'd. My F80 had some rock chips before I actually got the front PPF'd. It helped a lot.
I literally just washed my G80 3 times in the past 3 days....went up to Orlando (3hr drive). Got covered with bugs and washed it there. I also washed it the day before the trip and washed it when I got back. Lol
For the love of cars, especially yours it's worth the price. Maybe too extreme for me. Picked up my M440i at my dealership and I'm getting some "detailed" stuff done to it next week so it's sitting in the garage till then. If you don't mind I would like more info on next years "invasion", thinking of coming all the way from Hawaii! Thanks and have a great weekend...ALOHA!
Woah. That’s a lot. Got just front end of my gt3 ppf’d. Waiting on my m3 delivery and plan on the whole front, side mirrors, in front of the rear tyres
I had and M4 cs and use to bather me a lot when I get light scratches, rock chips and I could not even sleep all night knowing that but then I realize no one will notice them unless they take a flesh light and look for it lol. On the road it always look clean even if it’s not but I see what saying
Im glad im not the only who thinks this way. Looks like theres a lot more of people like us on how we think. The Paint protection film is def. the way to go!
Nah. I mean, it wont hurt if done by right people as there will always be a way to do something lol, but if you wrap it, make sure to have original paint perfectly paint corrected and detailed to the very end until it looks showroom fresh. Then have it generously, but not excessively ceramic coated or XPELED before the wrap finally goes on. Once wrap is on, then you can choose to either PPF or ceramic coat. If it will be a temporary wrap, XPELL coating or ceramic pro is best/ most practical bet. If the wrap is a long term want, then PPF might be worth the 5-10K+ investment tbh!!
8,500! You could have gotten the car repainted "if" there was any damage after a few years for that much money. You must have money to burn. People daily drive bentleys and don't get PPF. It's completely an unnecessary product and plays on your fear that something might happen. You wasted your money. There's no resale value to PPF either.
Look Z, the value of PPF to me checks the boxes on why it's worth it to me and many others. Like you just mentioned it isn't worth it on your end and i respecf that. I work hard for my money and to say i have money to burn is nieve and rude. PPF is not a product that plays on the fear that something might happen, It will. Driving on the highway at speeds of 80 mph will cause rock chips, pitting and other cosmetic issues. In most cases for the ones that leased their cars or only plan on keeping for 2 years or less, It's not worth it. I don't care about resale value and ect. I personally hate rock chips and especially on a brand new car. I plan on keeping this for the long haul since this will most likely be the last manual M3. For most people PPF-ing the front clip should be enough but at the end of the day, it depends on how you view things.
In Poland I paid 3.200 USD for full mat STEK PPF for M3 G80. Morover they also cover irregular shapes/parts with fluid PPF. No idea why that’s so expensive in other countries :/
Great video! I HAD to get PPF on mine or I wouldn't sleep at night lol I paid a few hundreds less in AZ but either way it's totally worth it if the plan is to keep it a long time!

For those complaining about 8k for PPF, think about it. 🤔 If you have 100k to spend on a new car, spending another 8k on protecting the paint isn’t going to keep you up at night. Like Ken said, it’s all about personal preference.
It all depends. If the front has small rock chips and not a lot then it's okay to prevent more from happening. But if the front is pretty rocks and debris then it may not be worth it. You also need to look at how long do you plan on keeping the car.
