- Anne Frank was one of the million and a half Jewish children who were murdered by the Nazis and their henchmen during the Second World War. Altogether there were six million Jewish victims. That organized murder is known as the Holocaust. The Holocaust began with exclusion and ended with concentration and extermination camps.

Ich wurde in Deutschland geboren. ich bin aber ausländerin. jeden Tag muss ich mir Diskriminierende Dinge anhören. es ist so traurig das selbst nach über 80 Jahren sich das Verhalten der Menschheit gegen über anderer Menschen mit unterschiedlichen Religionen,sprachen und herkunft sich nicht verändert hat. ich bin dankbar das so nah mit erleben zu dürfen auch wenn es gespielt ist kann man jede Emotion fühlen.

I think of Anne Franks story everyday, I do it so her story will always be remembered even if it’s only me. It’s really depressing whenever I watch short movies of her time in hiding and keep thinking: “Just a little more, the war will be over soon please hide a bit longer!” Even though I know how it’s gonna end…

Ik hoor liever nu hoe het met de familie van Frank is. Haar vader heeft verder geleefd na de bevrijding. Maar hoe zit het met de rest? Ze had vast neefjes, nichtjes, ooms en tantes ergens wonen. Ik neem aan dat niet heel de familie frank uitgeroeid is. Daar ben ik wel eens benieuwd naar.
ik zal in engels antwoorden omdat mijn nederlands is niet de beste-
it wasnt wiped out completely. only the immediate family was. We are very familiar with her closest relatives- 2 cousins (Buddy and Stephan Elias) from her father’s sister’s side; Helene. buddy had 2 children who carry the bloodline but not the frank surname just like him. One of his children is married and has 2 kids himself who also carry the bloodline but not the name and they themselves could even be old enough to start having kids of their own (which they might already have but i assume this isnt meant for the public). i cant find any information however on if stephen had descendants. her father also had 2 brothers but they had no children. her mother's side however is a totally different story and much more complex. to my knowledge edith had 2 brothers and a sister but i also dont believe any had children. theres otto franks cousins (anne’s 2nd cousins) George Ottmar Frank, Oskar Frank, and the famous Jean-Michel Frank but i cant find any information about their descendants (if they had any). theres always 2nd cousins and even the 2nd cousins cousins, and anne's grandparents' brothers, sisters, cousins and their descendants but its really just so complex. To be honest, im not even sure if anne had ever even met all of these people (even some of the relatives that were alive when she was alive). All in all, we know for sure the bloodline is still with us indirectly from other family members but nonetheless id say there is a rather good chance of a jewish frank related to anne that is still with us. Though this person/people are most likely the descendants of a relative alive in anne’s timeline (or even their descendant's descendants). Still some of these contenders themselves might not even know theyre related to the frank family. well, I suppose the more time waited the less time we’ll have to discover these relatives and their stories to this marvelous girl.

Edith had twee broers, die voor de oorlog naar de VS vluchtten, Julius (1894 - 1967) en Walter (1897 - 1968). Beide waren niet getrouwd en hadden geen kinderen.
Otto (1889 - 1980) had twee broers, Robert (1886 - 1953) en Herbert (1891 - 1987) en een zus Helène (1893 - 1986). Robert en Herbert hadden geen kinderen. Helène was getrouwd met Erich Elias (1890 - 1984). Zij hadden twee kinderen Bernd/Buddy (1925 - 2015) en Stephan Elias (1921 - 1980). Buddy was getrouwd met Gerti Elias en zij hadden twee zoons, Patrick (1966) en Oliver (1971).

What's up with the copyright for the first season? (It's my understanding that an argument between two organizations oriented around, and friendly to, Anne Frank and her cause were responsible for keeping that first season out of reach for Americans. Stupid argument, if you ask me.)
It's my understanding that the quibble is between you and the Anne Frank Foundation.
You cannot watch the Anne Frank video diary because the copyrights to the diary of Anne Frank have not yet expired in your country. For some countries, such as the US, Spain, or Mexico, the copyrights to Anne Frank's diary are still vested in the Anne Frank Fonds in Basel (Switzerland). If we were to publish the video diary in these countries, we could be violating the copyrights of the Anne Frank Fonds in Basel.
Horrible what happened to all these people. Yet we are currently doing exactly the same with millions of animals worldwide every day. Also from birth in barracks, on trains for days, and finally murdered in gruesome ways. Even though they are not people, they also feel fear of what is to come, pain and mourning. Whenever I read or hear about the holocaust, I feel the hypocrisy because people don't realize that this holocaust hasn't stopped at all. "Don't ever let it happen again," they say. And they're right, it was horrible. But it still happens in every country, near every city. Just because we've normalized things doesn't mean it's normal. I hope with all my heart that very soon we can say “Don’t ever let it happen to ANYONE again”.

Wat ik me oprecht afvraag is wat er met tweelingen gebeurde want die vonden de duitsers ook interessant
Met name in Auschwitz deden de nazi's experimenten met tweelingen. Er is informatie over te vinden, maar het is verschrikkelijk wat daar gebeurd is.
Anne Frank House ik heb echt een aantal dingen opgezocht en ik kwam het ene naar het andere vreselijke verhaal tegen. Ik snap echt niet dat mensen dit andere mensen gewoon aan hebben gedaan en dat alleen om hun geloof afkomst kleur of hun seksualiteit. Echt onmenselijke praktijken vreselijk dat dit in onze geschiedenis is gebeurt
