That's it! "Work Smart, Not Hard" is the series title in my mind from now on.
I recommend you make a 3rd robotic turret. That will keep 2 of them firing while you reload the 3rd. That way it'll start up when one of the others runs out of ammo.
Problem is that it takes three inventory slots when running around...
@@zebrin I was talking about a horde-night load out, not questing stuff.
Good Idea
you can only have 2 robotic turrets
@@carisi2k11you have many as you want but only 2 will work at the same time but if you reload the third and pick up the one that is out of ammo then it works
The ones who have automated the game is us who watch instead of play. With all the joys of winning and schadenfreude whenever you lose.
i think that the whole playthrough and playstyle you are doing is actually pretty fun and interesting, i've never really used turrets
I'm solo so I do turrets a lot, and with the way the pimp boys do things I need all the advantage I can get.
@@brodriguez11000 understandable lol, if i was going to play insane nightmare then I'd do brawling and always carry moonshine with me
Triple robotic turrets was my favorite way to play darkness falls since you can buff the damage with iron darts. Its great for mining in the mod or in vanilla because you can just pop your turrets down on top of you and they melt any screamers who spawn.
22:21 You can hear the joy and excitement in his voice as he says "more explosives" haha
I don't know if you knew, but that NDC Checkpoint Three you cleared actually has a Super Corn Stash with seeds and the recipe to craft the Super Corn seeds! This is for anyone who doesn't know and wants to start a Super Corn farm :)
Really? I didn't know that, I'll check out next time I see this POI, is it hidden?
@@victorribeiro4235 it's inside a little shed where all the military trucks, on the inside part of the POI. It's a little shoe box, can be easily ignored because of that, but otherwise it should be in plain sight!
@@LostTheLights7I all but gave up on them when I couldn't find the usual POI with them
You are magnificent.
Been playing intellect and using turrets. So insane clearing infested jobs that quickly. Love the series ❤
Long as one accommodates the turret limitations. e.g. slow to load and set down. Advantage as he said is it can be placed in desirable places. e.g. dropped down into rooms before going down a ladder. Good for trigger rooms.
I was glad to see you brought cobblestone to horde night this time. 😂
You could remove the closer set of bars and put a hatch instead. Then you can close the hatch to move up and grab the turret you put too far forward.
Just my 2 cents.
Fun series, loving it!
Wow; if you don’t believe that the Intellect tree isn’t OP by now, then I don’t know what else Prebuilt can do to show you. Loving this series
Ya night and day puting points there vs not doing so.
To help with your reload placement issues you could cut a door on either side of your fighting window. Then build 4 blocks in an line parallel to the path the zombies take to get to your fighting window. Then place your turrets on the end of these new blocks keeping them one block out from the block they are on now at the fighting window. Remove the block they are on now. This way the zombies dont stand on / pile up on the spot you want to place them and you can just close the doors when you finish reloading them to keep the cop spit off of you. Hope that helps. Love your vids & this playthrough is fantastic - so funny to watch, so OP!
At your horde base. The 2 blocks on the side where you are placing your turrets. Make it one block higher. Bodies wont stack up on your spot . And maybe the turrets will shoot slightly down and not hit the sledge turrets.
they wouldn't jump over them and start hitting even higher?
setting the sledges on a half block instead of full block should also help with the dmg dealt to them
I use the turrets mostly for covering me while mining just because they can be op. it's either that or build a mine entrance with an smg turret, switch. and generator guarding the entrance. by that time, I've got tons of resources so why not work smarter.
That works if one wants the weapon to be permanent.
If you swap to a 3 block wide kill room, you wouldn't have to worry about placing the turrets outside and out of reach.
I watched an older video using the sledges, putting them on a half block lower, reason being that they wouldn't hit the demo buttons, but it could help with the friendly fire.
As Sun Tzu famously said, "There's no kill like overkill".
Can't find that quote reference in The Art of War...?
Turret builds were my go-to in a20, glad they're still viable. I'm NOT a good player or fighter, lol
I play INT all the time. I find it's best to point the turrets back towards yourself (or at least one of them) then it covers you as you backpedal with a melee weapon. They've always been super OP if you spec into them.
I think you should build a maze out of bars, five blocks off the ground with a fighting position at the end and space to put down your turrets. The turrets will annihilate the zombies as they run through the maze. Can’t be long though as that screws up the pathing I think I used 20 long, 5 wide and the pathing was fine. More turrets the better 👍
you could do like a 1 tile left 1 tile right on your fighting position with a window so you can put the turrets through while mobs dont target the "wings" where you place through :D
The only thing really stopping me from using robotic turrets on horde nights is the fact that they hit demo zombie buttons in A20. I'm looking forward to your endgame horde base with these turrets and if they'll still hit demo buttons in A21.
Robosledges are the shit if your base is geared towards INT though.
Boutta eat some quesadillas to this
Dinner with no youtube is unthinkable lol
@@limetime2570 fr fr
I second this
I’ve died every hoard night and lvl 5 infestation job. Thanks so much for this video 😊
Can't believe why i wasn't subbed to you until today as your style is so fun to listen to. Anyways, corrected my mistake and you've got a new sub.
24:50 Ah, I remember that POI. I got my rear handed to me SOUNDLY because I my specs were all over the place and I had horrendous gear.
Intellect builds and turrets are my favorite. 9mm/SMGs is my primary firearm since I have to spec into agility anyway. Parkour and hidden strike are mandatory.
I would love to see you build a base designed around the turrets.
The auto turrets are broken lol, but I do love them! I get an absolute kick out of it it really! I especially like to use them when mining under ground. More of a convenience than a necessity, but it also just amuses me.
Crack-A-Book is my favourite T5/T6 especially with a int and/or stealth build.
You can use the stairwell if you can't stealth to funnel them at the bottom two floors and just put down your turrets
Easy as.
1. Calculated Attack for the attack speed perk? WAS EVERYONE ASLEEP OBVIOUSLY IT SHOULD BE CALLED "THINK FAST"
2. Great use for turrets is to plant one just around a blind spot facing a screamer. They don't see you well enough to scream 9 times of 10.
3. 2 turrets make buried supplies 3 a cake walk
That may be the most claustrophobic crafting area I've ever seen, lolol. Triggered... hahaha
I like your play style man. Reminds of of that breaking bad scene where they trick the meth heads into digging in the yard. "how deep is it? really deep"
I respect the vast amount of knowledge you have over every detail of this game. I believe it blinds you to just how min/max you have amped your intellect build.
Instead of a baton and junk turret pointed in one arc, you could also be maxed in machine gunner with a m60 pumping AP rounds into the same zombies with the same results.
You are just that good, that you know how to overpower the game. But 95% of players aren’t as adept with the game.
There's nothing "Min/maxed" about any of this. I put points into batons and turrets and I used them.
@@IzPrebuilt I was hesitant to approach this because I thought you might not want to hear me out.
On the min... Your game stage is fairly low because days is low, and your level is low. I would say you are just entering the mid game. In the forest biome you will encounter mostly "normal" zombies, especially in the daytime. So, no it's not day 1, but still low. An average player without your knowledge and focus would take more time to gather the power that you have now, perhaps by a week or three.
On the opposite spectrum, you have almost maximized your damage output; tiers 5/6 BIS weapons, BIS mods, best ammo. You've nearly maxed out collecting the skill books for those that you care about and you've (min/max) worked out how to get the book drops you want to get, and then coupled with your tenacity in pursuing them, and knowing which POI's will likely have the books you want. Then, also having the skill and experience to conquer the POI's with a power deficit (before you got the stun baton with repulse mod). Couple high damage, plus high knowledge, and high skill, means you are seldom hit, so armor is fairly moot (and you have the meds/money to heal yourself).
Why is it too easy? Not because the zombies are not difficult, and I would suggest you are not encountering game stage 200+ difficulty zombies yet, where your sacrificing the tactical crowd control of staggering more than 2 sprinting feral or irradiated high level zombies. I believe you are experiencing the fruits of your power leveling in having a laser guided focus and the knowledge and skill to do it.
My experience with turrets is a) if you can control the choke point and b) if you can slow them enough to stand in front of the bullets long enough, then junk turrets can be viable. But, at level 60+, and day 70+ and with higher biome difficulties.
Will you be able to tackle a wasteland tier 6 infested clear, like the prison with just a stun baton and two junk turrets and no other non-intellect focused weapons? I think it would be very, very difficult. Harder than a strength tanky brawler, club, or sledge wielder with healing factors and pain tolerance. It would be interesting to see you try it. I believe though, you will be bored of your current over powered state, and claim victory over the game before experiencing the most difficult parts. You are among the best players I've watched over the past 5 years playing this game, so if it's possible, then you'd be one who I believe could do it.
I hope this clarifies what I see as a systemic power curve issue, mostly in the ability to get BIS gear before the end of mid game ( day 49 ). Best regards and thanks for your insightful content.
Water Works has a wight, a mutated and a spider at the bottom of that hatch now, to stop the backdoor lootrun...does not work at all as they dont wake up when you pop a hole from outside.
Could you maybe widen the horde base fighting point and put the two turrents next to you inside the base? That way you can easily reload and replace without ever putting them out of reach.
hrm, i like the horde base - but I would probably expand the fighting area to a 3x3 to make it easier to place the turrets - but all in all thanks for the content!
The shit this man is able to have at day 20 blows my mind.
Heck, what he had at the end of day 3 blew my mind even more from a previous video
Robotic turrets are amazing. I love them.
I'd guess using a jeffries tunnel is the way to go to reload and repair robotic turrets. Use a door on base side, hatch on turret side of the tunnel, place the turret in a shrouded position using angled blocks to limit its field of fire. Hatch entry from the rear. Hatches or a door ( 1 or 2 block clearance) in front of the turret if you want extra security during reload/repair.
14:05 There's your series' title right there.
Did you get the super corn stash in checkpoint 3? It's inside one of those little green shacks in a green foot locker-type container. By the time I got up enough seeds of super corn I didn't need to grow any. Seems kind of pointless to have crops you don't need to grow.
i'd like to see 10 of those turrets vs peak deshong on a horde night
really enjoy the serie!
To be far I'm guessing that since even if you max your damage it the set up and minimize the zombie damage and turn off feral and make them walk all the time and set the zombie count to 4 thing's can still go terribly wrong terribly fast and that's why the robo turret is so op.
Spear's are badass, but pistols are your friends.
Early game is also very different then late game.
Get 100 day's in and even a stone pickaxe will pull a screamer and when she screams there's usually at least one other screamer and it's a whole chain reaction thing.
I can usually get just under 6k resource's before the screamer's start.
Maximizing your advantages while minimizing theirs only makes it easy in the short term.
the zombies can attack and destory the sledges just fyi. i just made an additional room that is connect to box that has some rails on it and can easy reload and place it within the box. so i didnt run in to the problem of trying to replace it.
IzPrebuilt, have you tried the robbotic turret shell ammo yet and is it as good as the AP ammo? When i tyied it it did not seem to be as effective but I was not fully specced into that tree yet.
What's your take on the "Shotgun Juggernaut" playstyle ? Like stim up, heavy armor and two shottys ? Been having a lot of fun with that recently =)
Doesn't that first teir 5 camp have Super Corn seeds in a footlocker or was that a mod'd server I've played on?
34:50 talk about getting that job security, a bit extreme lmfao
the robot base is awesome!
Last time I played Intellect was in Darkness Falls, I found them to be very nice. Although I focused Damage over Per Second.
I chuckled at the five with two each, in that play through I had two and my friend used a third one I loaded up. They where our fall back point, hell he only deployed his if I was reloading mine or if something huge was coming.
7 days to die is officially a Tower Defense game now
Using a lot of barbed wire in the field certain conveys that.
Make a base that looks like a casle. Give it a moat full of traps and also my idea for the next playthrough is do the navasgane map so we can see some of the new poi,s and also it would let you make it a guid as all the poi never change locations
If you put a full auto mod on the turret you can make it a “more viable” hand held gun. At least more fun to use as a hand held gun.
Can’t remember if it also ups the damage as well on the turret, if it does it’s even better. If not the only down side is it’s a mod slot for a situational use.
Ya I ran an intellect build with 2 robo turrets ap ammo... it's straight cheat mode even in places like wasteland version of higashi lol
I tested the AP robotic turret ammo and it was barely better than the normal stuff, even against armored. The robotic "shells" on the other hand was WAY stronger!
Don't they penetrate though? I think one bullet hitting 3 might add up a little more during a bloodmoon
Enjoy the OP ness of them. Don't ever complain if they are OP.
Do you have a video for a multiplayer horde base? Maybe some variation of parallel walkways for the zombies with something to fall through?
Just something with a little more room and maybe access to the fighting position from multiple angles would do great I think.
Also what about making slits so you can place the turrets on top of the fighting position? (like above the top right and left of the window, not on top of the building.
The irony of your OP complaint about the Robotic Turrets, for some reason, most people I have played with avoid them and complain about having to go back and pick them up. If that wasn't enough, many of those same people seem to get offended when I use them. There have been only a small handful, that I have met, that thought the turrets where cool and considered using them. I think you will find that the pride most people have, to refuse using them, is more then enough to counter balance the seemingly OPness they appear to have.
On top of all that, there is a lot that don't use it as a main weapons platform, but rather an emergency fall back, where if things go SHTF, they run back to the room where these are setup.
I don't think it is really much to worry about.
i always drink something with stamina regen before a big clear
On the base you have now could you put blade traps under the walk ways upside down ?
I always take two turrets with AP rounds when I go on tier 6 infestations in the wasteland cities.
Without them I wouldn't survive 😏
What robot could emulate you? Marvin the paranoid Android comes to mind! hah!
Loved the "Lockpicking? Who gives a shit." It truly does feel like it's a completely useless perk once you have a tool with decent enough block damage. That and C4, which is guaranteed to open a locked chest given it's hp is lower than 5000, are pretty common in loot tables.
Maybe lockpicking would be better if it actually guarantee's opening a locked container at max level, since all locked containers are guaranteed to be opened by the player if they progressed enough to gain the ability to do so without lockpicking. I would love an additional ability to lockpicking which would be to also be able to open locked doors and gates that would otherwise stay locked. It would be a nice change to lockpicking that wouldn't become too overpowered or shake the "meta" since it simply rewards you with having more options at your disposal when clearing out POI's. Idk, perhaps i'm overlooking a glaring problem, but as it stands lockpicking is a very lowtier perk that becomes useless after a certain progression threshold.
Curious 2 questions Why do you make frames when the burn time per wood is the same? And I thought screamers only scream if they actually see you?
You should do a bedrock base. I would love to see one. I would love to see a horde design incorporated too but might be a pain in the ass. I was considering doing my crafting base on bedrock on my current playthrough.
What is even the upside of a bedrock base? They're an ass to build, and the only good thing I can see about them is that you don't have to make them look good on the outside.
As a bunker is not too bad, you will have to deal with screamers in the surface, fairly easy to make with a steel pickaxe, but a horde base it's just bad
The turrets goes for headshots lol if they dont do headshots i think it eould be balanced 😂😂 but im loving it, use it in emergencies
I think the AP does, the shottie goes for the group. Makes it easier when they swarm you.
I’ve gotten smg turret bundles from the cathedral poi twice now
your game looks amazing =) its max settings and max fov?
Btw as a avid int player, try using the turret as an actual gun with turret shells. It feels like a budget auto shottie, instead of an Ak with the worse recoil imaginable
Does run and gun also reduce the turret reload time?
I can't wait till I get a junk turret (or two), that's going to be fun.
Oh WHOA! Without those turrets it would have been a slaughter!
Bender from Futurama is probably sarcastic enough.
So OVERPOWERED that you still need to use your weapon regularly and you burn through the ammo.
i go through a t6 with an auto shotgun and often have more shells when i come out then i did when i went in.
Did they make a secret update cause i am getting a ton more urban combats than i used to, i just got the landmines one
lovely turrets !
hey PB love your work but when I saw you put up a survey asking if we wanted to see a intelligence build I knew you would hate it and wondered why. Now I don't think you ever really had a choice and it was your way of begging us not to make you do it, but the "survey" went exactly like you thought it would.... and here we are lol op INT build ARE WE NOT ENTERTAINED!?
is stun baton better then spears? I'm going for a intelligence - perception build
Would having the sledge turrets lower or the ballistic turrets higher maintain functionality?
Crack a Book HQ with two turrets is awesome
Turrets are my favorite weapon.
Question: In your opinion, is Lucky Looter worth it?
Ty
"I don't mind reloading turrets every 5mins"- proceeds to not be able to place turrets due to too many zombies XD
You might think the turrets was boring but I have to say it was kinda comical seeing the Zombies slip past the turrets just to get launched back into the firing line via stun baton.
Should you be using normal melee attacks or heavy?
Robotic turrets are some of the most broken OP weapons in the game.
In my mind this series is called: "two wounds, no relief"
why, in every game the class i like the most always turns out to be broken or ez even tho i just like the vibe of them Itelect in 7dtd, Tone in Titanfall2, Summoner in ffxiv, and prob more
Have you tried the shotgun turret ammo? Role 1 AP turret and 1 shotgun turret maybe? Also I wonder how good are they in your hands(replacing guns) now that your fully specked? 🤔 Turret only episode/challenge/series?……lol. Goofy but fun to try I bet. Only prob would be getting the turrets in first place.
what mods do you have on your turrets?
How did You get 2 quest rewards?
You don't Suck at Collecting on your dew collectors, it's a new feature and really you just started the farm.
Which mods do ou have on our Turrets?
What happened to the mine shaft where all the wood blocks were damaged?
Instead of placing those turrets through the bars like that, just knock out the block on either side of where you're standing and put them there.
Is AP turrent ammo better than Shotgun turrent ammo?
“I have automated fun”
Sorry to back seat game but for efficiency put the turrets at opposite corners of the mine roof facing themselves and they can cover themselves all you have to do is get back within range of them.
Crossfire tactic.
