Thanks for covering my question Voja. It took a bit of time, but I finally got an answer from Boox feedback. It turns out, if your device is in landscape mode, you will only see horizontal as an option in split screen. To see both options, the tablet has to be in portrait mode. It’s another one of Boox’s quirks.
Thank you for sharing that clarification, weird indeed and good to know.
Lunch-time coffee is always nicer with your video! Thanks!
Just finished my PhD. As someone who read more than wrote on the device, I would suggest the Boox Tab X. I know Voja briefly mentioned it, but the 13.3" for text heavy pdfs is very useful. The Note Air 3 and the Tab Ultra screens are not quite A4, so the text is noticeably smaller than on printed paper. The Tab X does not have this problem.
I purchased a cheap Boox NA2+ from eBay to browse the web in e-ink, rather than side loading a browser on the A5X2 I'm hoping to purchase in the near future... seems the safe think to do.
Can you show how strongly the Amazon pro pen snaps onto the side of a Boox? ( Aha! Saw it snap nicely 13:10 just now awesome)Thinking of getting that pen for Boox use. Also does the side button also allow the tip to delete on a Boox? Cheers dude.
Just to be clear. Tilt detection doesn’t work on the notes app. If you install any other drawing app like sketchbook it works just fine but these other apps lag like crazy.
Well yes, but that's not exactly relevant, as those are not usable scenarios for these devices. The Wacom EMR technology does the recognition of tilt detection on it's own, so if a device has a relatively newer generation of a Wacom layer under the screen and is using an EMR pen, then the device is capable of using tilt detection data. So, NA3 is most certainly capable of doing that, but for whatever weird reason, they decided to obfuscate it on that device.
The Kindle Scribe pen is also my preferred pen, I like the "soft" writing feeling on my Note 3C. My only concern is that the tip of the pen seems to wear off quite quickly - but this is not a big deal. Compared to other pens, IMHO it is a fairly priced pen.
17:58 From my limited experience with only the Boox devices, you have given the student great insight and valuable guidance for his purchase decision. Personally, I like the Boox devices, but the interface should be more like that of the SuperNote, at the moment it takes some time to get used to.
Have you ever used any of the titanium replacement nibs? Curious as to how they perform and whether cost effective alternative to standard kindle nibs
How long does Nips of Boox A3 pen and kindle scribe pen last?
What are your thoughts on the current status and future of color e-paper, e.g. do you have insights from the companies, if there will be big improvements coming (soon)?
What are you considering an “excessively large” pdf files? I regularly use a 3,000+ page pdf on my reMarkable 2 and I haven’t encountered any issues.
Well, the file I accidentally clicked on opening was an 800MB file with over 12.000 pages. That is something that I would characterize as excessively large.
@@MyDeepGuide Yes. I think I can agree with that statement!!
Also...can you talk about whether you can download a PDF planner on the boox and use it as a note Template? Would the hyperlinks still work? Is there a workaround?
Yes, you can have PDFs or pictures as templates on Boox but the hyperlinks doesn't work.
I am seeing screen protectors for sale for the NA3C and NA3. Is there a reason to use that when part of buying the Note Air is about the note taking experience? I am just curious.
No, that is just a cash grab nonsense product, as both of these devices already have a screen protector laminated on top of the screen.
hi , can i use kindle premium pen with boox A3c , or it will scratch the screen , many thanks .
Yes you can, no it won't scratch the screen as it uses the same type of soft nibs that the default Boox pen uses.
many thanks@@MyDeepGuide
I was wondering, do you think the Supernote will go down the colour route?
Doubtful, as it would mean adding a front light as a necessity, and they are avoiding that for a very good reason.
did you hear that remarkable is not selling the device alone anymore? They are defaulting to bundle with pen, so it is much more expensive.
I’ve only seen that in brick and mortar stores, or third party retailers. You can still get it, tablet only, from their website
@@fouzr only in the US, they are phasing it out in other countries, like Canada for instance.
The workaround is that you can switch your store to US and then switch back, but they admitted to it through email that it is “an integral part of the experience”. So most likely this will affect everywhere eventually.
@@purpleAiPEy well I’m not from the US, so…they still sell it barebones here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
