If a billionaire wants a live zombie head for himself, he won't just send a few hunters with a net to retrieve the alpha zombie they encounter, he will send an entire oblivious team with a mole in it, with a bank heist cover, and hope his mole can come through, because that's more fun, and the first option is too simple. What a masterpiece. 😍
Also not to mention in the movie the mole could have just left after he got the head cause they were basically at the entrance but he decided to go back to the casino just so he could betray them??? Pure bovine excrement.

You can balance that by watching Triple Frontier. That whole movie is about how heavy money is.
I called that out when they said there plan was to empty a safe the size of a room filled with money unto a helicopter with all the them in it included ( because not one person planned on dying before the went in)

I'd like to say perhaps the casino wasn't actually his, and that he made it up just to get the zombie's head.
But honestly, I just don't think Snyder put that much thought into it.
To be fair, why would Multimillion Dollar Business Guy, who probably owns several companies, know the combination? Sure, an executive at the casino itself would have, but chances are that dude died. It would have been poor security to have too many people knowing the code, and those that did would have been on-site.
I don’t know if it’s possible with that type of safe, but generally the codes for things like that are changed periodically.

You missed how the whole "secret plan" could've been achieved within the first 2 mins of going through the "secret" container doors. Like literally the first thing they came across was the thing he wanted. He could've just taken her head then, turned around and walked back out the container doors. The rest of the movie is completely unnecessary.

You know your zombie movie did something wrong when you find the zombies easier to root for than the actual human characters lol.
Kind of like how Jurassic Park 2 becomes much more tolerable if you just root for the T-Rex.
@@jasonblalock4429 Oh, I love the T-rexes in that movie :) They are just parents looking out for their only child, and any character death caused by them are simply them just acting out their animal instricts and because characters are just dumb enough to get into their path. The family of three rexes (heh) might just be my favorite pack of dinosaurs in the series aside from the Raptor Squad xD.
Also, the thing about 'rooting for the monsters instead of humans' could also apply to A LOT of works out there. Alien: Covenant is one good example. I literally couldn't care for any of the human characters, and the one character who was the sole survivor of Prometheus got offed so insultingly unceremoniusly. I have literally no one to root for in the movie except maybe Danny McBride's character, if only because I liked the actor.
You rooted for the humans in the past? I'm one of the few people who'd rather be a zed, maybe that's just the misanthrope in me...
@@chizorama I mean, yeah, it’s all fun and games to watch people got torn apart by zombies. That’s why we watch these films, after all, but at least most of them have characters who are likeable and we feel somewhat sad seeing them go, but in this movie the humans are either too unlikable or too bland for us to care and the zombies actually have some sort of sympathetic story with the whole ‘Zeus and the Alpha Queen’ subplot. When the zombies (who are supposed to be bland, generic monsters who are there only to kill people) are more likeable than human characters, you know the story did something wrong.
I thought going thorough a Zombie civilization and learning them \how to survive in it would have been a way cooler plot than the most obvious fake heist ever. It didn't even make sense, the billionaire could have just hired them to get one of the alphas instead of tell the most flimsy lie. Such a frustrating film.

2:59 so I'm not the only one who thought that looked like a robot? I thought maybe it was just a weird CGI effect because the alphas do have blue blood...but usually not some strange sparks flying out of them....

I picked up on it, too.
There are a couple of blue eyed robot zombies. The one they highlighted here is the most obvious because you see the metal beneath. It's a mystery they plan to explore in other films/shows in the franchise.

Yep, the director confirmed that those were robotic zombies, although he didn't tell why were they there
It rarely rains in the Nevada desert so the chances of seeing "rehydrated" zombies is slim to none. 🧟♂️
But there could have been a water tower knocked over, or a building's plumbing or pool could have spilled out.
They could have made a joke about them being unlucky threw out the movie I think that would have worked well with the tone of Las Vegas
this movie was so surreal, he might aswell have added a scene where a Guy pees on one and he gets killed by him, that way atleast we see that it works.

There's no way they took this seriously. This has to be a parody.
There are some incredibly mediocre zombie movies out there that are so much better than this. And the ones that are actually good are so much better (and in many cases were made on a much lower budget with barely any big name actors) that Zack should genuinely feel embarrassed about what he's created here.
@@MrMViceroy I think that mainly is the problem with the big budget zombie movies. People think that making those insanely big and cool action scenes will make the movie good, but it basically just turns the whole thing into an action movie with slight zombie elements. Look at Train to Busan for example. The first was amazing, the second (I'm assuming they probably got a bigger budget after the success) is just dumb action and nonsense.

The thing that pissed me off the most was when something happens to someone everyone around them just stands there. Like, you have a bunch of fucking guns, use them.

What I learned from this movie is that Zack Snyder smokes a lot of weed, and really likes the movie Aliens.

@@jasontodd1226the Snyder cut of Justice League was pretty good but, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman weren't all that. Plus, I wonder how good the Snyder cut would've been if he wasn't allowed to make it 4 hours long.

And to think, Dave Bautista opted to do this movie over Suicide Squad.
Bautista is allowed better acting chops in this.
I actually get that. He got to show off some serious range here. This movie had many issues, but he wasn't a part of them. Him and Coyote absolutely carried this film for me.
Sticking to suicude squad and he's nothing more than a side character making dumb comic-relief joke. James gunn will make sure he got that part since he's in GOTG and become popular for that.
Atleast in here he get to play a deeper character with actual feeling and have a chance to show his range.
And Dave Bautista wasn't missed in The Suicide Squad at all. John Cena nailed the Peacemaker character, especially in the acting department. No wonder, now he is even getting his own show.

It's kind of depressing watching that movie and being able to identify problems in the script or action that could be fixed and 10x more effective without fundamentally changing what is going on in any significant way. Snyder would do well to hire a proper script writer to develop his ideas.
His ego forbids that. If you listen to his fanboys you will understand that you are simply not smart enough to appreciate what he is doing.
I heard that he really liked working with Netflix because they let him do whatever he wanted. Clearly, that was not a good thing in the end.

Snyder has no bloody clue about basic film-making, like story structure and pacing. His only good film is 300 because he literally copy-pasted it from the comic-book and the plot couldn't be more straightforward
@@MollymaukT sure buddy, a filmmaker who has made movies for close to 20 years now has no idea about basic filmmaking. From your comment its pretty evident that you haven't watched his other movies that have actually done well MoS, Watchmen, ZSJL etc.

Chris Delia had her role, but then he turned out to be a creep who's into minors, so they reshoot everything with her and added her performance afterward. The joke is that Epic Voice Guy also added "Tig Notaro" after they finished the Honest Trailer.

It was so identical that a part of me wondered did Snyder somehow see that episode and this was like his way of acknowledging it?
The carrying capacity for Huey maxes out at 5000 pounds. unless everyone of the team magically weighs 50 pounds soaking wet there was literally never any hope in the first place of any of this working. it’s a tiny, unimportant detail, but one that stuck out with me and kind of made me scratch my head.
I mean they were never meant to get out alive or with the money anyway...
and the whole plan depends on just one helicopter they're not even sure is functional.

I hate to admit it, but I was thinking this over and over again throughout the entire movie, but that also means that I, and by extension you, probably just hate fun or are lame at parties or something
What's great is that this fact works for the film because the guy who hired them had 0 plans for them to get that money, and the crew probably didn't think about it because most people have no idea how freakishly heavy large quantities of cash are. Logical plot point on both sides.

@@Caderynwolf well they mostly ignore the regular zombies and focus on the alpha zombies that can have any ability that moves the plot forward.
Um... yeah and yet they're dealing with Zombies whose intelligence would not be fooled by that at all afterwards.
So if it is the heat, not the meat, then in the bright Vegas sun, the zombies would be chasing the dirt, and cars? lol Ever been in vegas on a bright day like they show in this movie,,, you can bet your butt that those cars are way hotter than a person.
@@erich6860 The zombies mostly didn't roam around in the sun though, they hid inside until an alpha zombie commanded them into the streets. The ones that did roam in the streets turned into 'rain zombie' jerky.

2:55 you forgot about the lovecraftian horror side story about them being stuck in a loop of going on the heist and dying there, since the vault is littered with corpses that look like them, and one of the guys even makes that joke at one point.
