Istg momo's vocals we're outstanding before debut and in the scientist era. I don't get why jyp had to strain her voice to fit the concept the could of kept her regular vocals.
For the ones who are saying that their vocals aren’t as good as they used to be, you guys should listen to Cry for Me and Behind the Mask. For me, those two songs show off their vocals the best. Especially, Jeongyeon, Mina, Jihyo, and Nayeon’s voices.

The general public doesn’t really care about vocal technique if a song sounds good to them and pop fans seem to prefer sopranos and tenors overall vs. their deeper voice counterparts. You see this globally with whose popular and what type of songs become hits
I remember when I commented on their song "Likey" that there was something off with their voices that made me not like the song before and was attacked by onces saying if I didn't like it not to comment and saying I was hating on them. I watched their survival show Sixteen and after their debut song I wanted to see hear more of their natural vocals. Needless to say I still listen to their music every now and then but I knew that they were not using none of their natural voices from then on which is sad cause they sound so good.

But momos voice predebut was so much better and she probably would have gotten more lines in the group if JYP didn’t force her to do a high pitched voice. Momo probably actually is in twices top5 best voices with her natural voice. Sorry, I completely disagree. They have all become 1000000x better vocalists over the years. Just one example is Tzuyu. She sounds amazing now and is truly bringing big, strong, confident vocals.

Momos vocals are still good she has improved herself a lot, especially after M&M era. I recommend you look at her vocals in Misamo also her vocals in rewind are great too
