Takato, in the south of Nagano, is located between the Central and Southern Alps along.
The Takato castle ruins parkis is one of the three best cherry blossom viewing sights in the country.
The cherry blossoms at Takato Castle ruins Park are called takato kohigan sakura, and can only be found here. There are over 1,500 of these cherry blossom trees throughout the park.
During blooming periods the blossoms are illuminated at night, and the park becomes crowded with people who visit to enjoy the beautiful cherry blossoms.
Come to enjoy the blossoms and the terrific views of the Japanese Alps.
「高遠の桜」は長野県伊那市にある高遠町には高遠城を中心に整備された高遠城址公園の桜で、長野県随一の桜の名所で日本三大桜の名所のひとつとも言われる。かつて馬の姿が桜の花に埋もれて隠れたという高遠藩の桜の馬場。明治８年、荒れたままになっていた高遠城址を何とかしようと、旧藩士達が馬場の桜を城址に移植したのが公園の桜の始まり。植えられた約1500本のコヒガンザクラがいっせいに咲くと園内が鮮やかなピンク色に染まる。高遠さくら祭りの期間中にはライトアップやボンボリが桜を照らし、幻想的な雰囲気の夜桜を演出して見せる。 ここの桜は、「タカトウコヒガンザクラ」で一般のコヒガンザクラよりも花はピンク色が濃く、ソメイヨシノよりも桜色という桜に出会える。
