Since when is Toronto considered a 3rd world city? Also, that term is heavily dated. If you're not from Toronto, Toronto is the most populated city in Canada, one of the most multicultural cities in the world, which has one of the lowest crime rates per capita in Canada. Yes, the job market sucks. And public transit is underfunded and mismanaged. But Toronto is not alone here, and the province of Ontario works against most municipalities as of late. - also it snows like 2-months in Toronto, so I'm not sure about the frozen part.

@ you and I know Toronto is only a world class city on paper, that city sucks compared to other world class cities, Toronto is the equivalent of Alabama when compared to the states. High crime, low employment, low innovation, high housing cost, high cost of living, high property taxes etc the odds just stack up against a once up and coming great city. That’s pretty 3rd world to me

@@therealbenjaminfranklin It sounds like you have some prejudice against Toronto and aren't relying on facts. Comparing Toronto and Alabama doesn't even make sense. As I said, Toronto has a relatively low crime rate per capita, putting it as one of the safest cities in Canada. When compared to other major cities across the globe, Toronto's crime rate is still low. So yeah, crime, nope. Low employment? Do you mean high unemployment? It's not that high compared to the rest of Canada and other major cities in the world, but yeah, Toronto is average on those rankings. Average amongst major cities is not 3rd world. Low innovation? Sure. But that is everywhere. In Toronto's case, it's due to the provincial government of Ontario. Toronto and Waterloo were both supposed to be tech hubs and leaders in health science and sustainability, but the province faulted its commitment across multiple Ontario governments. Since Toronto still has the foundation for this it is not Toronto going backwards, it is the province. But, anyway, this is going on in many cities in the world. High housing costs? Well, again, that's poor provincial management, not Toronto. The high cost of living, is everywhere at the moment, as well, in a lot of major cities, and not an issue to downgrade Toronto to 3rd world status. High property tax? Really? Our property taxes are too low. Honestly, it's hard for us to complain about taxes when we've had it good for so long. I respectfully disagree with you, the odds don't stack up. Those Toronto problems you mentioned are either false or not solely a Toronto problem. Toronto has slowed down, yes, but that's due to slow investments going into Ontario, and poor leadership on the provincial level. This does not make Toronto, "3rd world-like."

A homeowner of the neighborhood said houses in the neighborhood don't get sold for years in the market, $15 million was the top at the time, just a few years ago.

Did that realtor say this property was "just listed"? I swear this house has been on the market for a while, maybe years, with no buyers at the current asking price. - in any case, they're correct in that they need a niche buyer for this

Well a report from RE/MAX will always be such that they remain in business. Home prices are falling.

That has to be the ugliest $30M home on the planet. And it’s been on the market for 6 months. Previous sale was in 2021 for $13M.
