Remember watching you build this, so enjoyable…. all the rust repair and fabrication most definitely worth it now. Brilliant to see the car looking and going so well 👍
Stickers makes it look like a race car now. Good on track video, and I like that you are sharing all the learning on how to rectify handling issues. Love the ride section too, he did enjoy himself going by the footage. Well done.
Another straight up, no nonsense video from you Matt, watching your progress is always interesting and this video has really shown the honest side of ramping up the bhp, hopefully you'll find that sweet spot between chassis, suspension and sweet, sweet booooooost!!! 😂 All power to you mate, keep on rolling 👊😁
Stressing about the stickers? Behave yourself mate! What you have achieved with this build is incredible! Footage from the track days is brilliant. Very informative detailed information without being too much. Keep up showing us the development!
You should avoid soapy water with modern air release adhesive vinyls! It traps air and water and also stops them from sticking properly! Vinyl without the air channels you can, but you tend to fight it if soap is used!
@Urchfab Matt, for future reference on the graphics.... anything that is going to be difficult to see when fitting, (anything going on to glass, light colour vinyls, or similar colours to the paintwork) get a pencil and do a rubbing on the application tape (the paper that is over the graphic) doing this gives you a clear view as to where it is in relation to the surface it's being fitted to, and if it needs to be straight, you can see where to take the measurements from 😉
Stickers they are pesky item, I had a work van I destroyed the decals and never got them installed. great content and God speed as you continue to dial this beast in. Cool on the ride along too.
Josh casually checking out the speedo 😄 Stickers are a cool idea, I would've sworn more. Happy belated birthday. Interested in how you're going to solve the power application situation. I've never driven turbo.
G'day, The car looks great and sounds great. Now it's all learning. Q. With the stickers your putting over the race numbers could you make them reflective. They would look awesome at night. So thanks for sharing ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Control rear roll stiffness with bump stop rubbers on the rear shocks, you will need to experiment a bit obviously to get the right length/ hardness of the rubbers but it's a good way to go, Roland, HT Racing Ltd
Kyle from BoostedBoiz has an electronically controlled wastegate on his MR2 (1500hp K20) and it does boost by gear, and RPM ramp of boost, I suspect that it is expensive but it might be worth a few calls to see if you can get it sponsored and the boost to be where you want it to be throughout the rev range.
Happy belated birthday fella! Superb to see the pea out and the only problems being configuration - do you still monitor the oil pressures etc or is it all sorted out? Superb episode chap 👍
Hi Matt. My birthday too. 23rd may. But a lot older than you. Done quite a bit of racing in my days inc F1 stock cars. So When i had the r33 gtr Skyline. That had 640bhp at 1.45psi boost. But it had an Apex i controller on the dash. so if the car was too twitchy on the bends i could drop the boost for that part of the lap. Just wondered if you could have yours adjustable on the fly. If it was my car I would be aiming at 350 bhp. Probably using the 2.0 sportech or ztech motor as a base. Good luck this season. Steve.
Happy birthday Steve. The ecu has boost control so shouldn't be an issue to smooth things out. I think if I was going to swap the engine I'd go for an Na option. Cheers
Slow the ratio electronically in throttle response settings maybe?. It's lovely and quick on the straights. Be a shame to lose that. Happy Birthday dude 😎
I got frustrated watching you fight those stickers. I hate those things and always pay someone to do it because I will F it up for sure !!! Are your tires equivalent to Michelin pilot Sport Cup 2 tires or are they track only slicks ?? Great to see you at the track 👍
Happy belated birthday buddy More power is always better than less power now comes the flat floor splitter wing diffuser basically a time attack car 😂 the grip will improve 150% probably need more power 😂
Here in Oz you are not allowed numbers like such. Must be a standard font. And no sins allowed withing a 100mm of number back ground. At a Sprint or even track day mininum dress is long sleeved flame resistant long sleeve attire. eg jeans, leather shoes and woollen jumper.
HBD! Turbo is set up just right, when the boost marginally compensates the overheated intake. Also, I told you to soften that suspension years, if not decades ago. Also also, fixing an alternator is not that hard. Getting payed to fix an alternator is impossible.
at least the nightmare is only on the door you actually use, foook just had to pause to buy tickets stupid old brain forgot. The mushi pea bloody love how she has come along. can you have two maps programmed in so if you want to back to your drifting roots and just have fun you can change the spring and send it? I am 100% sure Josh many years from now will remember his ride in the mushy Pea much stronger than if it was just another Porsche. once you find the balance man, she will be a weapon. Good times, I think once you go turbo there is so much stuff that changes like gear ratios, diff ratios, because boost in gears is so much different than just the normal aspirated vehicle. 1 second but I'm sure a lot more spirited and fun. Really love watching the Pea grow
Thanks and good luck in the raffle. Switchable map would be worth looking at. It's surprising how much the extra power changes the handling. Few more track days and she'll be mint! Cheers
Documenting ‘faux pas’ is the way forwards no need to replace that door sticker it’s now officially part of ‘The Mushy Peas’ heritage and an j start talking point for everyone to comment on each time you meet a fan of subscriber…
I think your engine in the Mushy Pea(Sweet Pea) can handle 300 h.p., Erchman! That's what some engine builders did the a turbo powered American made 2013-2017 2.4 L Dodge Dart. I think the engines are simular. Too bad on the decals.
Remember watching you build this, so enjoyable…. all the rust repair and fabrication most definitely worth it now. Brilliant to see the car looking and going so well 👍
Thanks 👍
Happy birthday, Matt. The car is awesome!
Cheers
I did love the sound at the end with it normally aspirated! Good of you to do passenger ride alongs. Top man!
Stickers makes it look like a race car now. Good on track video, and I like that you are sharing all the learning on how to rectify handling issues. Love the ride section too, he did enjoy himself going by the footage. Well done.
Cheers
@@Urchfab I have been a subscriber since you built the ramp truck

Happy birthday, for yesterday!

Warm soapy water is your friend applying vinyl stickers.. and hindsight is a wonderful thing XD
I was going to comment to you Sophie water as well but was not sure if I was right
You should avoid soapy water with modern air release adhesive vinyls! It traps air and water and also stops them from sticking properly!
Vinyl without the air channels you can, but you tend to fight it if soap is used!
That looks brilliant, yes I agree with softening the rear and checking the ride height.
Absolutely awesome Matt, quite unbelievable to consider what you have created and how well it goes! Fantastic achievement.😊
Thanks, much appreciated.

It’s great to see you really pushing Mushy Pea and giving us all your feedback. Good luck getting the handling sorted.👍
Thanks 👍
Great to see you give the kid a ride. Good on you.
Nice to see you out on the track. 👍👍
Urchfab in the angle looks fine imo. As a million people have already said a spray bottle with soapy water means you can slide the decal around.
AIM has their stuff together, the camera integration with the data overlay, plus the drivers features is just great.
I very much agree.
Stickers they are pesky item, I had a work van I destroyed the decals and never got them installed. great content and God speed as you continue to dial this beast in. Cool on the ride along too.
there's a nack to it, and I aint got it. Cheers
Would like to see this going around Mount Panorama at Bathurst Australia.
Hahaha 😂 sorry mate I just F’in love seing you struggle with the decals because it looks mad familiar! 😅
Josh casually checking out the speedo 😄 Stickers are a cool idea, I would've sworn more. Happy belated birthday. Interested in how you're going to solve the power application situation. I've never driven turbo.
Haha yeh I noticed that. I've no idea being honest but apparently its an easy fix. I will update when I no more!
G'day,

Q. With the stickers your putting over the race numbers could you make them reflective. They would look awesome at night.
So thanks for sharing ✌️ Peace from Melbourne Australia.
Hmm reflective would be really cool actually. Something for next time! Cheers
A co lab with the stig would be good to test the car and maybe help with some tips
It's good to see the ol girl on the track 😊
Belated Happy Birthday Matt… 🤔🥸
Try using a wing/spoiler and some canards for more grip would look cool too ngl
When your toyo's eventually wear out, you should try some yoko AO52's. Good tyre
Belated Happy Birthday Matt
Cheers
Nice one , like that .23 goes back in Irish family about 7 generations , moto -x too .great job on this race car .still looking for a Kung Ming mill 😀
Cheers, That's a rare old tool. I've only ever seen 1!
Congrats and good luck everyone on the AIM raffle 🎉
Amen. Cheers

I will look into that. Cheers
Using throttle as an axis on your boost request table also helps.

Yes I'm monitoring things and all looks good! Cheers
@@Urchfab Glad to hear it fella, love following the progress!

Josh probably thought it would have the original motor in it. He would have been surprised.
aloha I enjoy your content. This is why you have track days. To improve
The Mushy Pea's turning into a mini Hoonicorn! 👍👍
Looks great😊
Happy birthday for the other day!! Are you planning on coming back for the quick 60 at Mallory again this year? 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I'm thinking about it. Cheers
Slow the ratio electronically in throttle response settings maybe?. It's lovely and quick on the straights. Be a shame to lose that.
Happy Birthday dude 😎
I've no doubt Steve will be able to smooth it out without loosing too much off the top. Cheers
Rattle can and a stencil, Matt! It's the way forward.😊
Probably more my style anyway! Cheers

I'm on Toyo r888r tyres. Yep lesson learned! cheers
I have an ford prefect I am looking at doing up. I had one as my first car in 1976. I was wondering what the set up is for the front end?
Mine is mx5 running gear underneath
Happy birthday to you for the 23rd, happy birthday to me for the 28th. lol
Mat you should buy a hans for improving your safety. Your car is really quick!
Noone but you is ever going to arecabout the sticker, the car looks amazing and the way you hang that thing out on track its hardly a princess
1st motor BP 1.8?
2nd motor Saab turbo?
3rd motor BP 1.8 turbo?
I remember the Saab went in, but the dyno video was a BP turbo?
Always Bp in this one bud
Great vid, great car, bought a raffle! Wish me luck 👌😁
Good luck Bud! Cheers
Happy belated birthday buddy

Haha, that look is is not for me! never say never though.
All good fun with plenty of expletives, plenty of soapy water in a spray bottle is the sticker fitters secret tool.
3days late, but: Happy Birthday Matt
Cheers
I think you need to take it to the ring for micha to drive

That car is REALLLLY fast!!!
Amazing how far the pea has come from the rust bucket it was
Thanks, its been a long journey. Over 5 years now!
Ummmm, why not laminate the 2 stickers flat on the bench then apply to the car?
I had asked for them to be laminated together as one but was told it was too many layers and would make them difficult to fit.
Fun time. It goes well...
Was a good day come the end mate, roll on the next one, just remember omelette and eggs me son 😂
Cheers Helm x
You need to link up with Ivan Dutton from Shed Racing.
Happy belated birthday

seems like you went from being the car that is hard to pass in the corners to the car that can pass on the straights. seems like a net gain still.
For the algorithm 🤟🏻🙂

I feel bad you release this vid a few days after your birthday. Play you cards right and i will get you a AIM pressie😊😊😊😊
Na just need more downforce
