Love your channel. Have an order of Neptune on the way from Gardener’s Workshop. We were on a trip in Germany once. Staying out in the country amongst farmland. It was hot so slept with the window open. Oh my goodness we woke up to a stink. They were spray/spreading the crop right outside our window with fish emulsion organic fertilizer. But the fields were beautiful. Thank you for great educational content. I’m addicted Vicky southeast AL, Dothan, 15 min from FL, 20 min from GA. Zone 8b

Hi Llayne! Its your friend Yvetta. Invaluable information and very much appreciated. Im hoping not to miss the show today as I will be working out in the yard doing all the things. I do have a question, I use Land and sea bio tones fertilizer. Do you recommend the fish fertilizer over land and sea? Have a great Friday. You are beautiful. Thanks for all you girls do.❤😊

When watering your seedlings on fertilizer day, if there is water still left in the bottom of the tray in an hour or so, do you pour that off even though it has fertilizer in it?
My seedlings in 3/4 blocks have super roots but they are turning yellow at leaves. I'm using agrogrow, I had it on hand.. I just looked at ingredients and it is phosphorus with micoryzone bacteria. I trashed some and potted up others. Thank God I'm not selling until next year.. just getting everything in place.. I am a home gardener.. I grow in my dinning room so I wanted a fertilizer that didn't smell like fish... 😅 but whatever it takes... I'm ready.
I get very poor germination with soil blocks. I stopped using cell trays last month and started soil blocking. It could be seeds incorrectly planted or the heat mats. I will keep working to figure out what is causing the problems.
Hello, Millie! Are you using something over your blocks to help retain moisture at the surface during the germination process? We recommend covering your blocks with wide weave burlap until around 50 percent of the seeds show any signs of germination (including cracking). I frequently cover my seeds with a thin layer of vermiculite in lieu of burlap. Others use a humidity dome, although this does not allow much air circulation and can sometimes result in undesirable growth on blocks or damping off issues. Are your blocks getting extremely dry during the day while your seeds are trying to germinate? Seeds need consistent moisture during the germination process in order to sprout successfully. My growing space tends to be very cool in the winter and then very warm in the summer. In the warmer months, I sometimes have to water twice a day during the germination process due to my blocks drying out excessively. We typically only recommend watering once a day, but I just wanted to share this tip in case you are experiencing this issue as well. Thanks so much for watching, and have a great day! 😊
@@LayneAngeloTGW I am using the Epic trays and the green trays that are sold from the Gardener Workshop. I purchased the Gardeners Workshop burlap. I covered soil blocks with burlap, glad wrap, and a humidity dome, and all gave the same results of no to low germination. So I am guessing that the seeds were planted too deep in the blocks or the seeds are bad. I will replant the seeds on the surface of the soil blocks.
@@LayneAngeloTGW another trial I was using a fan in the same area as the soil blocks so they were drying out fast. I changed from the mini to the one inch and from flat trays to 1020 trays with a humidity dome. This may work better to reduce dryness
Wow.. beautiful Layne!
