We have stayed in belo vela loutuka for our entire holidays it was an awesome and peaceful resort, where "love NZ" and "American survivor" has been shot each and every staff was excellent I must say where ever you go in Fiji you find the same, I think it's in their blood HOSPITALITY.
on our first day, we just stayed at the resort and enjoyed the sunset and a glass of local beer Fiji gold and spicy chips.
Most of the people know Hindi and food is also influenced from India you wont miss Indian cusin.

It's great to see that you enjoyed and appreciated Fiji and what it has to offer. I am of mixed race, Fijian and Indian. Fiji is unique in that the Indians have been able to keep their culture and language intact. This is unfortunately not the case for many countries where Indians were taken to by the British as indentured servants. Countries like Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana and Suriname where Indians no longer speak their mother tongues, only English. I'm glad I learnt hindi as it helped me greatly when I was travelling through India. Fiji is definitely a gem in the South Pacific.

Both India and Fiji were colonised by Britishers. And Indian were sent in Fiji (South Africa too) to do farming so Britain can get the full utilisation of the resources of their colonised country in order to benefit their Economy.

Did you know - the serpent named Kaliya which Lord Krishna banished from Yamuna as per Bhagwad scriptures was sent to Ramnik dweep which is the Hindi name for Fiji. The native Fijians worshiped it as their God and called it "Degei" (Denggeii) before they were converted as Christians by the earlier white missionaries. In childhood we heard stories of music coming out from the caves in the area called Rakiraki where Kaliya is believed to be residing but that stopped as settlements near that area grew... ISKON therefore has a Krishna Kaliya Temple in Lautoka city as well where you can see a large painting of Krishna dancing on top of the serpents' heads...
