What I've seen in other Barebow archery competitions on UA-cam, Barebow is little less formal than other types of archery. Personally, I'd rather not be distracted by another archer's coach.
What in the world is all the background noise while these guys were shooting? By the way, I spent many years in my younger days shooting field archery tournaments -- both barebow and freestyle -- the American shooter had much better form than the Swedish shooter, regardless of the outcome.
@@petarvelagic8127 It's pretty clear to me. Look at Leo Petterson's (Sweden) release at 1:17, and then watch Ryan Davis's release in slow motion at 2:42. Notice that Leo Petterson, upon release pulls his hand to the side and away from his anchor point, whereas Ryan Davis pulls his hand straight back. Pulling to the side like Petterson can cause you to 'pluck' the bowstring creating windage inconsistency. It seems to be working for him, but for most people it would create problems - especially if you start anticipating your release too much.
@@gregm6894 Well, he certainly isn't plucking his string. Also at the very next arrow he does it perfectly. His hand goes to the side but stays behind his anchor point so, with the high poundage of the bow i presume he is shooting it doesn't affect his arrow much. Also watching him it looks like that moving of the arm is more like stress relief for him or something and it comes after releasing of the arrow. It is really hard to "pluck" bow stronger than 30# directly to the side in my opinion.
@@petarvelagic8127 Not hard at all to "pluck" the string if you accelerate back tension to quickly and it can be a culprit at bow wts. higher than 30#. Greg's analysis is correct.
Archers, please tell me about some etiquette. Is it "okay" for your opponent's coach to talk while you are shooting?
I think it's depends if they were distracting the shooter then it's not ok if they talk when all the shooter finish shooting then it's ok
A lot of coaches talk when archers are shooting. In a nut shell, they’re a coach, therefore they will coach.

Tuning out distractions makes one a better athlete.
The etiquette is to keep your conversations quietly as to not distract their opponent. I'm unsure of the legislation set out in the rules.
Du très haut niveau

3:27 appears to be 15 meters
How made that beat though?!
Go go Leo

What is wrong with his form?

Maybe his form was better. Maybe Davis looked cooler. But, even with all that he didn’t win.
Crawling is for losers
What are they losing at? certianly not the match, so maybe sights or wheels, what do you shoot?
