An underrated classic from 2012. This race was so bonkers that Di Resta finished P4 and Massa somehow scored points after being last for a good portion of the race.
Lewis went retirement, win, retirement, win, retirement in Singapore. He shakes his head, kicks the car and announces he has signed with Mercedes, couldn't take it anymore, paid off massively.
Think this was the race that Mercedes realised Schumi was no longer upto the task, that crash with verne was just poor judgement. Shame really it all ended like that as imagine if Schumacher was in the team from 2013 onwards
Thanks! I've spent the last 2 weeks trying to solve it so decided to test it on this race. Really good as now I can go from 2007 into amazing years like 2012. I'll post more videos from this era to find out if I've solved it!
18:49 This is the move that cost Webber point finish as he was given drive through penalty(Convert to 20 seconds penalty) in post race. The penalty cost him 10th. Sergio Perez promoted, while Mark was demoted to P11.
Imagine where Hamilton would've been in the championship if he hadn't had poor pitstops during the first half of the season and having to retire due to reliability issues from the lead in Singapore and Abu Dhabi
He was the fastest didn't make many mistakes like Alonso but although Alonso was brilliant ham should have won title. I'm probably slightly biast since I'm a ham fan though...
@@F1Hub-fw8un The thing that makes Alonsos season legendary, is that he capitalised on absolutely every opportunity that season. His only poles are in the wet, the only time when the field is somewhat equalised and talent is what shows, his only wins are from pulling off absolute miracle drives where the risk were absolute, like Malaysia where with a car that under normal conditions wasn't Q3 worthy, he somehow managed to win in the wet, through brilliant judgment of conditions and overtakes. Valencia was only possible due to his amazing race craft and ability to make most of safety car restarts to get the jump on multiple faster cars. He basically had to take maximum risks all season (race starts, qualifying, wet weather) just to have a chance to compete with others with better cars. Hamilton, although he drove well this season, he did have a very good car underneath him and shall we say he didn't need to be absolutely flawless, he could mess up a race start and come back, he didn't need to make the most of every wet qualifying because on average pole was usually attainable. What fucked his season was strategy and obviously DNFs but nevertheless, he didn't put in any timeless drives or amazing overtakes like Alonso had to do just about every race just to remain in contention.
@@F1Hub-fw8un He was the fastest because Mclaren was the fastest car "Didnt make many mistakes" Neither did Alonso. The only mistake you could say is Japan start but even that was considered an unfortunate racing incident. If you look at mistakes and maximizing weekends Alonso was definatelly the best driver of 2012
For me the most iconic image of the 2012 season. Hamilton retiring from the lead with Vettel swooping past to take the lead in the, ultimately successful, Alonso chase.
Same. This race really is a iconic image for the reasons you mentioned but this is why Schumi knew it was time to retire and it was also because of this LH left Mclaren
Fun fact: Vettel led every lap from lap 23 of this race until the end of the Indian GP
2012 along with 2021 are still the 2 BEST F1 SEASONS OF ALL TIME.
YES!
Why you forgetting the period from 05-10 those are pretty good seasons as well
Yes they were too

This is the race why LH left Mclaren and Schumacher retired
2012 was just the best thing ever

The DNF that Niki Lauda needed to convince Lewis to leave the McLaren from next season.
Can I just add that Hamiltion had clobbered the wall twice in Quali. He broke the car ultimately.
@@stewartgrindlay9760 Max did even harder in Saus Arabian quali in 2021, but the car did not broke during race. So, what you're saying is BS.
Great video mate fair play for somehow getting this uploaded you mentioned that 2010-now highlights won't work and it's copyright

Vettel in 2012 was in BEAST MODE like Hamilton.
Please upload 2012 season and 2013 season..really love it extended race
Eventually. If there's a specific race you want let me know and I'll see if i have it
@@F1Hub-fw8un I love see f1 2012 and 2013 all season extended..if you can..love to see it.. coz I love see kimi raikkonen that 2012 and 2013 season.

I wish today's Max Verstappen was battling that 2012 grid.
It would be mega...
Verstappen vs Vettel vs kimi vs Alonso vs Hamilton vs Schumacher!
Verstappen vs Norris 2024 may recreate Verstappen vs Hamilton 2021 or Vettel vs Alonso 2012.
Bring back engine failures
I wish we could. Can't even remember the last engine failure

Always glorious to see races during the Karthikeyan era! ( see also Scott Speed etc)
@@paulsontag9233sadly 2012 was last ever time we see iconic HRT on the grid. Who knows we could have another new grid in 2026? Like Hitech GP.😅
